Why does my Seiki DVD player say incompatible region?

It's possible that the DVD you are trying to play was manufactured for a different region than the one your DVD player is set to. DVD players are designed to play DVDs that are encoded for a specific region or regions. For example, a DVD player that is set to Region 1 will only play DVDs that are encoded for Region 1.
You can check the region code of your DVD player by looking at the back of the player or consulting the user manual. You can also check the region code of the DVD you are trying to play by looking at the back of the DVD case or consulting the information that came with the DVD.
If the region code of your DVD player does not match the region code of the DVD you are trying to play, you will see an error message like the one you described. One solution is to try setting your DVD player to a different region and trying to play the DVD again. However, keep in mind that most DVD players can only be set to a particular region a limited number of times, and once the limit has been reached, the region code can no longer be changed.
It's also worth noting that some DVDs are encoded for multiple regions and will play on any DVD player, regardless of the region code. If you have a DVD that is encoded for multiple regions and it is not playing on your DVD player, there may be another issue at play.

How to make region free dvd

Usually a region 1 DVD player will not be able to be a multi region because it needs to be able to convert between pal and NTSC to play on your NTSC TV. Unless the player is a European model then it would be possible!

Steve wonder

Region code 1 is for the USA. The player must be either region 1 or a multi region player to play such DVD's. Is it possible that the DVD's from Fox are from anther region placed in region one cases? It depends also where you got the DVD's from, there are a lot of counterfeit ones out there. Which to be honest will not work at all.

How do I unlock the region code on my BDX2250?

What does check regional code mean?

It means your DVD player has a different region code to the disc you are attemting to play.

DVD's and most DVD players have a region code corresponding to the country/region in which they were purchased. The region code printed on the disc must match the region code of the player, usualy found on the rear of the unit or in the manual. Only players set to code 0 or 9 are able to play all regions, a setting of 1- 6 is most common. 1 = USA 2 = Europe etc.

It is often possible to set your player to code 0 or 9 enabeling you view all region DVD's.

Our Sony DVD player will not playimported DVDs from the UStates

1) those DVDs are coded in Region 1(Canada, United States; U.S. territories; Bermuda)
you will have to change the region code on the dvd-rom to region 1

2) if you bought the stand alone DVD player in the U.S. it will play region 1 dvds and nothing else(some dvd players will play region code 1-6)

3) to change the code in windows vista you'll have to go under the drive property's in the device manager go to the dvd region tab and set it to what ever the number on the back of the dvd is WARNING you only get 4 changes before the drive locks you out permanently then your stuck with what ever number you put in on the 4th try you've been warned

windows xp/2000/98/me
you'll have to change the region code from your software player again your limited on how many times you can change the region code before you have to reinstall the dvd player software
