How do I open my Gaf Hush-a-matic Slide Projector 2100E? I want to put in a reel of slides and can't figure out how to do it.

You will also have to open the lens cover (if it is not already open), by sliding the knob below and to the left of the cover to the right until it stops.

Note that this projector uses the Sawyer's Rototray (round 100) or TDC-universal (straight 40) trays. The Rototray stands upright, like a Ferris wheel, then the cog teeth facing the control panel. The TDC tray lies flat, with the teeth also on the bottom, facing the control panel.

Kodak Carousel trays will not fit.

Push in the little red buttons on either side and pull forward. It might take a little doing but it'll come open.

I have a minolta autodual 8 film projector but the front reel is turning backwards in the wrong direction. How do I change the direction to turn in the same direction as the back reel.

I assume you haven't put a reel of film onto the projector and looped it through to the back spool. The front spool usually 'freewheels' whilst the film is pulled through the projector and taken up by the motor driven rear spool.
It is possible that the friction drive and/or drive belt have deteriorated with age, as the mentioned projector is a rather elderly 'classic' of the dual 8mm series.
If in doubt, don't risk your family pictures. Try the unit with an old piece of film on small spools.

I agree! The problem is a short in the remote or the socket the remote plugs into!

in slide projector smooth movement of mechanism is rule number 1 .1-spray contact lubricant cleaner on forward and backward switches and press them many times.-open it and clean it with air blower and clean piece of clothes.apply good type of light grease in levers-cams gears-confirm all mechanical parts is in good condtion.change any broken part from nearest store.
