Router I'm going to buy a wireless router soon. I'm looking into the Netgear WNDR3300 router. Do you think this would be a good purchase, or do you recommend a different router?

Linksys is a good choice. Sysco owns the company and they handle networking hardware for most major corportations.

D-Link I'm not found of because there equipment has broken down on me before for no apparent reason. Although I did have one wired router from them that worked out very well. While it might be less expensive than Linksys, you get what you pay for.

Netgear 3300 does it work as a wireless repeater?

http://reviews.cnet.com/routers/netgear-wndr3300-rangemax-dual/4505-3319_7-32863752.html
sounds like that router isn't really well liked.
I do not recommend using wireless repeaters because your "second" network is only as good as the uplink to it, and I find you often can't move the repeater too far from the first router without sacraficing a lot of quality.
plus that router has bad range to start from what I hear

First off reset the router using the Small Pin hole on the back. Do this while the device is powered on and you will get an orange light and you will know this has been done Ok.

Next plug the router into your computer using Ethernet cable.

Where can I buy a power cord for my netgear duo wierless n router wndr3300?

I see the WNDR3300 needs 12v at 1.5A according to the Manual, Maplin do a 12v 1.5A power supply (L47BL) for £19.99 see:-

http://www.maplin.co.uk/ac-dc-fixed-voltage-switched-mode-power-supplies-48484?tabid=1&criteria=usb&c=so&u=strat15

if you DO get one of these (or simular), Make sure the centre connector is POSITIVE!

the maplin one has reversable adapters so it's easy on that one (once you have set it i'd suggest glueing it in position)

I have tried everything, and i can't get this router to connect wirelessly I do the step-by-step instructions, name my networks, set my passwords and everything. it says i completed the entire setup on...

During configuration, you must enable the router radio and SSID (Name) broadcast, so that the router would be visible to laptops and other wi-fi enable devices.

Select Wireless Settings under Advanced in the main menu of the WNDR3300 router.
Make sure the Enable Wireless Router Radio and Enable SSID Broadcast check boxes are selected.

Hope it helps!
