Hello.

There is a hidden Administrator account that is created when your operating system is installed. Access that account and then reset your password.

1. Boot your computer and press F8 repeatedly
2. Access Safe Mode
3. Key in "Administrator" in Username, with no password.
4. Go to Control Panel, then User Accounts
5. Select the account you want to reset the password
6. Change the password

When forgot password in Windows, you can firstly check your password hints left when created password or use password reset disk created before forgetting the password. Besides, using password reset tools such as Anmosoft Windows Password Reset, Ophcrack, LCP, etc.

Asus tablet, Windows 8, forgot password and won't let me reset no matter how many incorrect passwords I put in.
the whole purpose of the PW is so others can't read your private data.

So why would guessing it ever be good.?
What screen fails. THE W8 WINDOWS login?
yes/no.?
yes, then do all users on that screen fail to login
is the login local or windows Live login.

live login is easy to reset at ms.com
MS page to do that is outlook.com (using 2nd PC that works)
next time write it down, say in book only you know using postitnote. (memorize only the page #)
end the drama forever.

It's possible you were hacked by a scam-bot and the password was changed from your former one.

If you mean a BIOS password (and since you didnt mention which version) ie Pheonix, AMI etc you can always remove the CMOS battery for a few minutes-- (looks like a big watch battery)

Parent forgot the password
if you remembered the email address you used to register then goto www.xboxlive.com try and login using your email address then use the forgot my password process, they will send you another or tell you the original i forget now.
