I would suggest trying to format the memory card from the camera menu, not from your computer. If you are unable to do this, and other cards are not working the camera memory card slot may be damaged and unable to make good contact with the cards.

I have had success with this photo recovery program called asoftech photo recovery... Download the program

You have to use a card reader either on your computer or an external USB card reader. Put the card in the card reader, open the recovery program, then select the drive where files are deleted, then press "Start" and wait for it to do it's magic.

Photos downloaded to computer from picture card.when card put back in camera showed card set up Power off ...

When you removed the card from the computer, did you: A. forget to use the "safely remove hardware" function B. delete the pics using the computer instead of the camera Either of these could cause your problem. If the pics are safely on your computer, I suggest you format the card in the camera.

I turn on the camera and it comes up with Card locked? i am unable to delete any of the data i have on there or take any photos it is like its blocked for some reason it is a Canon Powershot A470 digital...

Hi,

I think the problem you are having is not with the camera but with the memory card.

  1. Remove your memory card.
  2. On one of the sides of the card there will be a lock switch.
  3. Change the position of the switch by pulling it up or down.
  4. This will remove the lock.
  5. Put the card back into your camera.
You will now be able to take photos if the problem was with the memory card.

Kind regards!!

Canon ixus 50 unable to delete photos from card

If the card is a removable memory card, take it out and use a adapter on your computer.  Format the card on your computer then put it back into your camera.  It should be ok after formatting on PC.

Unable to view pics

Copy the existing photos on to your PC, switch off the camera. Remove the SD card and format the SD-card using a SD-card reader, this will clear all the card contents. Now try using it in your Camera again. Ideally, you should be able to save photos on this SD card. Other way would be to insert another SD card into your camera and click photos and check whether those photos are being saved into the SD card(this can be done using display option in your digicam.)

Suddenly unable to transfer photos into Nikon Picture Perfect

How are you transferring the photos? Are you using a cable, or a card reader? If you are using a cable then most likely the cable went bad. I have a D-1 and a D-2, and I never use the firewire cable. I put the CF cards into a card reader. If you are not using a card reader then try that. You can get a decent one from E-Film or from most any computer store.

One more step to try, did you format the card in the camera when you first loaded the card in? On my cameras you need to format that card to have them work with the camera.
