Change lamp note came up on screen. Took care of that. Now the picture is comming in from the sides. Is this a problem with the transformer they speak of?

It's a failing LCD Module "green blob"... Requires Optical Block replacement, around $3000+ new, or hopefully, you bought a five-year extended warranty... Sorry to have to tell you that!

No picture no sound just a black screen

I just repaired this LCD tv exact same model.
symptoms- when the tv turns on, all I get is a black screen with blinking green light. No other error codes. It was crazy frustrating trouble shooting this. I measured the transformers on the master and slave inverter board with a multi meter. The resistance should be 1.31 k ohms. All but one measured within the specs except one. I get an OL reading. I took a chance to order this part on eBay for 13 dollars. After soldering it, the resistance for all of the transformers were back to specs. The tv powered on and stayed on. Works good as new. If anyone has the this similar issue I would advice testing the mini transformers on your master and slave inverter board. My email is [email protected] for help.

I got on my projector screen plenty white spots started with 5 now they are closed to 100 do I need to change the bulp it has lees then 500hours?

I think that the problem of your unit is the lens of the bulb is dusty. Unplug the unit and let rest for at least two hours. Then locate the lamp unit door on the side of your dlp it is labeled, open the door and remove the screw that secure the lamp. Be very careful to remove the lamp from its housing and clean the lens with microfiber cloth. Note be sure not to touch the lens. Hope this help good day and best regards.

I have a Philips/Magnavox Smart Series CRT Tube TV. It has no picture at all (black screen-no menu-nothing) THE SOUND IS FINE. Set was working fine night before...:? Purchase in 1999. Is there something I...

Hello
If the picture tube must work properly, the LOT [Line Output Transformer] must be functional. In your set, now the line output transformer is not working. Check whether the 3 filaments in the neck of the picture tube are glowing. If it does, the LOT is working, because the filament voltage are dertived from one amoung the LOT windings. If it does not, the LOT said above is not woking. There are many reasons for this fault. If line output transistor has damaged LOT will not work. LOT is one which is a step-up transformer, ofcourse, which in turn supplies all the voltages needs to the picture tube. It has a long wire connected to the top of the picture tube body, with a clip and a rubber boot. You ahve to check all the voltages to that component, and the frequency of horizintal out put transistor. Just pull out the board, turn it upside down, and note carefully if there is any loose or bad solderings at the LOT side circuits. Resolder most of the soldering joints there, by applying a little more sodler, becuse the components of these side will heat up while working, and there is possibility to get the soldering points to get loose contacted. Check this first. If it does not help you, get it repaire by any experienced service technican. If you have some knolege in the fundementals about how a TV works, you yourself can do it at home. Wish you good luck. OK>

Neovo x17a starts up then screen goes blank. unit still powered. tried replacing caps in psu and inverter, but still the same

The problem can be the inverter transformers or lamps assembly.
You can look for number as printed on the transformers and go to www.lcdparts.net to look for pinout and resistance reading. Checking for bad lamps will be more difficult unless you have spare test lamps.
One thing you will have to remember is that the cap can look OK but it can have high ESR, you will need cap tester that can do the test.

Screen switches on but image cuts out after 1

You will have to check the inverter transformer for open winding on the secondary side (common failure mode for the inverter ransformer), you can also have bad lamps due to bad soldering works on the end of the lamps. The transistors driving the inverter transformer check out OK out off the circuits?
See these pictures here for guide: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
I will assume that you have measured the DC voltage feeding the inverter circuits and it is OK (about 12~18VDC).
Post some pictures will help.

Panasonic Rear Projection TV -dark picture

Javabean,
First off I think you meant Panasonic PT-51G44A which is an AP815 chassis. That unit has an all to common failure of the capacitor at C581 on the D board which is a 33uf/160v cap. Replace it and I think that will solve the problem..

Help.....

Hi there.

This is definetly the light tunnel issue. After searching and a million phonecalls, I tracked down a place that you can buy the light tunel for $41 on their own and simply put that in, making the projector good as new.
I Have the phone number of the place and also the link to the forum giving you fully pictured diagrams of how to change the light tunnel, and also I have a service manual if anyone would like it to be sent to them.

Cheers
Russ
