Most projection tvs even if they say HD need a converter box. This is because the HD tv part is referring to playing hd video through the component inputs. This input is typically where you would connect a dvd player or blue ray player. Most projection tv's where made before the transfer of analog to digital tv.
Hope this helps

No TV broadcast picture. Is this a tuner problem?

yes it does seem to be a tuner problem , I also wonder what happens when you use the auto channel finder and tuner usually found in the set up section of the menu ? As well as was your TV working before and receiving input via the antennae but has now stopped working in this regard ? I also noted that attaching an analog to digital converter box worked fine , so your TV is capable of receiving a signal via that method , dose the converter box use your antennae input jack or a video jack to send the converted signal into your TV ? if it is using your antennae jack then it may not be a tuner problem .

Attach tv converter box

Everything is digital now. You will need a digital converter box. You will connect an antenna to it, and then connect the box to your tv. The box will come with it's own remote. Your tv will be set to channel 3 or 4 (depending on the converter box you get), and you will control the stations with the remote that came with the converter. You can get them at any electronics store.

Input signal.

You should be able to connect the TV to the antenna without the tuner converter box. If you still do not get signal you may need some type of signal amplifier between the antenna and TV. Hope that helps.

Can you please advise which external tv tuner will work for SONY trinitron kv-xf21m80 model? My SONY crt tv tuner is not catching most VHF B/G channels. i sought the services of an authorised service...

If you have a cable box and can set your TV to channel 3 then you should be able to watch cable. If you want to watch over the air broadcasts then you need a digital converter box which you can buy at Best Buy for around 40 dollars. You use the converter box as the tuner and set your TV on channel 3.

I have an older Sharp Aquos TV - model # LC-32G4U. I am trying to connect a digital antenna but it doesn't work. Anyone know if I need a separate digital tuner for this TV? Or what else might be t

There is no difference between a "digital" and analog antenna. Either antenna will capture the signal. What you need is a digital converter box to convert the over air digital signal to the older analog type signal your TV needs. You connect the antenna to the digital converter box, and the digital converter box to the TV.
Several years ago, the US government forced peopel to buy digital converter boxes or newer TVs that could pick up the digital signal. Either get a digital converter box or a new TV.

Do I need a digital converter box to recieve a digital broadcast with a Sharp LC-20SH4U TV?

Yes you need a digital converter box. Your model has an NTSC Analog Tuner. It doesn't have a Digital Tuner. This is why you need the converter box.

For example, many companies like Comcast or Time Warner or TCI etc used to broadcast Analog Signals through their wires. Now they have broadcasted only Digital Signals. This makes either your TV Obsolete as a Tuner or you have to get a digital converter so your Analog TV can receive the signal.

Depending on your service, it may be worth your while to get a TV with a digital Tuner.

Then again, it also depends on if you are connecting a box receiver to your TV. For example, if you have Directv or Dish, you would then use your standard Video/Audio or Composite Cables to transmit your signal OR your Out to TV Coaxial whichever works for your receiver. Some receivers have already built in converters . You should really consider all the factors to decide and determine it based on the type of service you have or want.

My digital tv tuner converter box with analog Zenith converter bo

Most DTV converter boxes have 2 outputs available; RF and component video. The RF goes in between the antenna and the TV and acts as a frontend tuner. The TV needs to be set to Channel 3 or 4 (depending on the box) and left there. All tuning is then by the converter box. By the way, you need to scan for channels as part of the setup. The other method is by using the audio/video component inputs to the TV and the set would then select AUX 1 or 2 etc to get the box input, and tune via the box.

Reset code for digital tuner

Is the Tv a multi standard Tv?  And as you know most countries around the world are converting to digital Tv. A converter box will likley solve the problem.  Try this web site , ramelectronics.net  also type in , standards converters , in a search box.

Getting alot of "no signal"

You will need a digital antenna for reception. You do not need a converter box for your tv. I have a digital antenna and get a bunch of channels in.

Vcr/dvd combo recording problems

I would need your exact model # to get very specific, but in general:
The "External tuner" will need to come from your TV or a cable/sat box, generally. If your TV has a Video OUT or a Monitor OUT (most television don't), you can hook a yellow AV/RCA video cable from the TV to the Magnavox. You will also need to hook a red/white audio cable from the Audio OUT of your TV to the Magnavox.

Your TV probably doesn't have a Video OUT, so you will need to buy a box. A digital cable box for your cable service would be the best investment. Alternatively, if you can find a digital-to-analog converter box (but these are iffy). Once you have one of these box types, you will need to hook a red, white, and yellow AV/RCA cable from the video/audio OUT of the box to an available video/audio in on your television.

Once your connections are correct, the general rule with tuner-less recorders is: If you can see the channel that you want to record on the television screen, then you will be able to record it.

One final note about Feb 17, 2009: Thanks to Congress, the digital transition date was moved to June 12, 2009 - many areas have already switched, but there is at least a chance that you are in an area that hasn't switched yet.

Let me know the exact model # of your television, and I can tell you if it has a video/monitor out - or, let me know what type of box you decide to buy.

Good luck!
