My camera is a Canon IXUS IS digital camera. Recently the pictures will appear in the screen to review but when downloaded to a computer will either not be able to open OR open with a film of green or red covering the picture. Then, sometimes the image on the camera screen will be smaller than it should even though the first review was perfect. A week later, the smaller one will be large until you try to view it after download. then it will remain large but be green or red. There is an entire variety of &^%$$%^&(&**&%^&%$%#$ that is occurring in what is normally a fantastic camera. I have read the book and wonder if it is a corruption thing. Please advise. Thanks. Maria.

SOURCE: Corrupted Pictures?

i suggest you always format the card in your camera every time you release it and use in your pc. card may get infected with virus and may affect the performance. never format card in pc! Better save pictures in hdd or cd than in mem cards.

Try removing the memory card and inserting it again.
Also, does the computer detect the camera properly?

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check this link for more info.

SOURCE: unidentified image, image too large

Try formatting the memory card (or changing it). You probably have some bad sectors.

If this does not help, take the camera to a Canon dealer, it's probably a software problem

Where can i download software for canon ixus 300 HS digital camera

The IXUS 300 HS is called the SD4000 IS in some parts of the world. You may download the SD4000 IS software from here.

Bear in mind that you don't need to use the Canon software. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Canon ZoomBrowser or Picasa.

Copy picture fram PC back to Canon IXUS 750

Try closing the included software, open My Computer, look for "Removable drive" or it may say the name of your camera. Open this, and you will see the folders that are on the "disk" inside your camera. You can copy files/photos from elsewhere on your computer's hard drive, to the camera's disk by using cut and paste. You must find the files you want to copy using My Computer. Usually your photos are stored in My Documents>My Pictures.
If you want the photos to appear on the camera screen once disconnected from the computer, you must search through 1 or 2 folders in the camera disk to find the Folder that the camera saves it's photos to. (Usually called something like DSC001).
