I have a similar Camera (slightly different model) but the exact same problem. It's suggesting I need to put the file in a different format but I find that strange since this is the format it gave it to me in... Any other ideas? I had already done the suggestion provided and it doesn't work.

Try closing the included software, open My Computer, look for "Removable drive" or it may say the name of your camera. Open this, and you will see the folders that are on the "disk" inside your camera. You can copy files/photos from elsewhere on your computer's hard drive, to the camera's disk by using cut and paste. You must find the files you want to copy using My Computer. Usually your photos are stored in My Documents>My Pictures.
If you want the photos to appear on the camera screen once disconnected from the computer, you must search through 1 or 2 folders in the camera disk to find the Folder that the camera saves it's photos to. (Usually called something like DSC001).

Canon IXUS 80 IS doesn't conect to pc

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

You don't need any special software.

Query Regarding No Display on LCD (view finder) in Canon Digital IXUS 750

With the camera on, have you tried pressing the DISP button once? It's the lower left button on the back of the camera. It manually turns the display on or off as desired to save batteries (you can then aim through the optical viewfinder).
