Netgear is not a browser. It is a Router. For the sake of this question I would assume you were talking about the Router, what do you mean by "Lock"? You can change the default password, and no one will be able to access it. If you only want specific devices to connect to the router, you can:
1) Enable MAC Filtering
2) Disable DHCP, and assign Static IP addresses to the devices
3) Hide SSID (Not Broadcast it)

SOURCE: have lost/can't remember the security code to wirelessly connect to my netgear DG 834G

Paul.

Can you connect to the router via ethernet?

If so assuming you havent changed the routers address connecting to 192.168.0.1 from your web browser should get you into your routers admin page.

Once you have entered the user name and password click the Wireless link from teh main menu where you will be able to see the relevent key and or change it if required.

If you need the manuals you can download from here.

SOURCE: I dunno ow to secure my connection with my edimax router

You can read more about WEP and WPA in the following links:

This article explains how to configure WEP/WPA-PSK/Access list on NETGEAR Wireless router (also applicable to access points).
Note:
  • You can configure WEP or WPA. But you cannot enable both at the same time.
  • You can configure Access list and also enable WEP or WPA for additional security.
  • After you enable wireless security features on the router (or access point), you must configure your wireless clients (wireless computers) with matching settings. Your wireless clients will not be able to connect unless you configure matching settings.
  • Its recommended you enable these wireless security settings from a computer wired to the router (or access point).
Configuring WEP:
  1. Connect a computer to any one of the four LAN ports of the NETGEAR router.
  2. Open an Internet explorer and type the router IP address which would be either http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1 (by default, refer to your product documentation ti determine the default IP address.) in the address bar and press Enter.
The Login window will be prompting for a Username and Password. The default Username is admin and the default Password is password
  3. Click Wireless Settings under Setup menu. n101675_image001.jpg
  4. Under Security Options, Select WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy)
  5. Select Authentication type as Automatic and Encryption Strength as 64-bit (or 128-bit) - You must later configure your wireless computers with the same setting.
  6. Select Key 1 and enter any 10 hexadecimal digits - any combination of 0-9, A-F (26 digits if you selected 128-bit as the encryption strength) and Apply the settings. Please note down these values - You must later configure your wireless computers with the same setting.

If you're talking about the Security Code/Password that you need to access a WiFi connection, that passcode is set by whoever set up the Login requirements on the router itself. You have to get that password from that person or the WiFi Router Admin page (if it's your personal WiFi at your home) If it's a Modem/WiFi unit from your Internet Service Provider (cable company), then you should contact them for the password (if they were the people who set up the password).

Need to set a password for my blitzz wireless router

I am not using this router but i am giving you normal password setting steps...

Open you web browser and put the IP address and login your router with username and password(default). Now find to reset password,it will most likely be under the "security" settings.
You will need to select WEP or WPA settings (WPA is more secure) and if WEP, choose a 128 bit encryption rather than 64 bit. Keep in mind that the moment you save it, you will loose your connection until you add the password in the settings on your computer that control the adapter that receives the signal from the router.
It is also advisable to make your SSID invisible to others; that way it will be more difficult for your system to be found and hacked.

How do i secure and place a password on this linksys unsecured wirerless router

Wireless Router

It is usually easiest to run the install wizard, but be sure to be ready to set the items listed below. To get access, start your browser, and put 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1, or other address for your unit, into the ADDRESS bar (not search box) of your internet browser. Every unit has unique access login and passwords, some are admin with no password, some are admin and admin...seek access information from the website of the manufacturer of your unit.

Things to set:

Note: Routers are intended to be set by geeks. You have to SAVE EVERY page before you leave it, or the changes will be lost. A geek knows this (apparently). The router gives no protest...just dumps your changes.

1. Login password (RECORD THIS!!). Consider taping to bottom of the router. Physical access is not the security issue.

2. Set a recognizable system ID.

3. Invoke wireless security of at least WEP.

a. Assign your own access code, 10 digit home or cell #. Consider taping this information to bottom of the router. (Physical access is usually not the security issue.)

4. Check that your router is set to broadcast its' presence.

I have ipod touch,3 GB. I am not able set up WiFi connetion to my Zoom ADSL X6 router. I enter the pass word but it keep rejecting the connection. I have three other PC that seems to connect remotely with...

You could try restoring your Ipod touch to factory settings and then retrying to connect it to your wifi. Or your wireless card receiver may be broken.

I am trying to put my brothers lap top on my wireless, I put in the pin but now it ask for the security password

The security password is the password for the router,If you have forgotton the security password there is a reset button in the back of the router Press and Hold for 10-15 seconds/Then give it 1 minute to reboot. However this will reset the router to default settings so if it is secure it will be unsecure/ Here is a link to show you how to secure the Belkin router. Hope this helps

I want the password to put the secure code

You can secure your wireless network wit WEP or WAP code.
For that Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link.
http://192.168.0.1
or
http://192.168.1.1
For belkin router http://192.168.15.1
or
http://192.168.2.1

If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it.
Then it ask for user name and password.
Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank.
Then you can see configuration page of router.
Click on wireless settings WEP Security then add WEP code .It is your password to connect wi fi.Then save settings and restart router.
If you already set the code then if you can read it then you can ser it in wireless but if it is in 8 or # format then add new wep code .
Then you can connect your wi fi network with that code.
Thanks for using FixYa.

How can I set a password on our dg834g router

Here is a link to a manual for this router. There are two passwords for wireless units. One is to access the configuration data (when you log in) and another for your security (one used for either WEP or WPA)

Normally, you would input the ip address that they give you.
Next put in username and password
From here each unit is different but look for setting up WEP or WPA because it is here where you will put in a code (use 64bit because its easier to remember.
The code must be alphanumeric (such as: a1a2a3a4a5)

Hope this helps.

http://kb.netgear.com/app/ (the only thing is you will need your version number) just input your product number and choose the correct version.

Bought a new laptop and having trouble connecting to the internet, it keeps asking for a security key, I have tried all the numbers on the bottom of the router but nothing works, could you please tell me...

Your security key is usually in brackets on the bottom of the router. If a key was not provided with the router, you might want to call your internet service provider and ask them what it is. Also, the security key (password) for the router could have been changed at one time from the number that is on the bottom of the router.

Wpa key

whoever created the wireless connection would have had to name the wireless router network for your router/computer and put a password in. That will be your WPA key. Ask the relevant person for the password.
