Good chance element is faulty. If you have a multimeter, carefully remove cover on circuit board and check voltage at terminals where element connects for 120Volt AC (hydro). The element is the round rod that slides in side of your stack and 2 black wires go from it back to circuit board. Make sure you have door open and fridge is calling for cool, otherwise you won't get voltage reading there. Best way to make sure it's calling for cool, is to open door, switch to propane, then when it lights on propane, you know it's calling for cool, then switch to AC (hydro) operation to test. If you get voltage reading from spades on board, and element isn't getting hot to touch within 10 minutes, replace element.

Rm2852 not cooling and makes a noise like a water pipe with air

The noise you bear is the ammonia and hydrogen trying to circulate. Check k the backside of the unit for yellow residue. If this is found then your cooling unit is leaking and must be replaced. If it is gurgling and not cooling it may be clogged. You can try "burping" the unit. To do this you will have to remove the refrigerator from the cabinet. Make sure the gas is turned off and all power is disconnected from the unit prior to removing from the cabinet. Once the unit is out turn it upside down and let set for a few minutes. The turn it right side up. Repeat this process a few times. Then reinstall, right side up. Reconnect power and L.P. lines. Use a soapy water mix to check for gas leaks. Once installed allow the unit to set for a few hours before turning on. This is not a guaranteed fix and if it does work it may not last long... the only sure fix is to replace the cooling unit.

It does not run on electric or LP gas

Check the thermistor by unplugging it from the main circuit board located at the back of the refrigerator. It will be the harness to the left that has only two wires in it. Unplug it and allow the refrigerator to run for 24 hours. If it does not cool after that then you have a bad cooling unit.

Dometic s 1621 works on shore power but won't work on lp gas

What exactly happens when switched to propane? Have someone switch to propane while you stand by vent cover outside and listen for sparking when switched. Make sure it's calling for cool, as in maybe leave door open for a few minutes prior to trying. Let me know if you hear any "ticking" sound as if trying to light on propane.

Dometic rm2852 works fine on hydro but not on gas, has gas supply & can see it trying to light but dosn't fireup. Any suggestions??

Make sure shut off in line with gas valve coming in is in proper position. It looks like a slotted screw (brass) with knurled edge around it for turning by hand. Slot for screwdriver should line up with propane line. If that's not it, get back to me.

Refrigerator not working on gas

There is some reason maybe not explained here. But I will help you if you want. Below is a simple test. The manual I need you to make sure if you have the RM2652 or another model to get the correct manual. That model has digital controls and that is controlled by a control board for switching from AC to DC to Propane. If the board will not switch then we need to look for that problem. Dometic, good refrigerate and great support group. Now here is a link to that model number problem solving PDF. With the manual we can work together to solve this.
