Hi. I have just formatted the hardrive on my computer and installed everything again. after installing the Wireless i cant find my own wireless network. i have another laptop witch are connected to the internett with wireless, so i know that my router or the internett modem is not the problem. i cant find anything wrong with the setup either.Wireless is enabled.("this device is working properly") can it be a switch on the laptop? where is it? have i installed the proper driver?

Let see, can your wireless card on your laptop detect other network, if so, it is not your wireless card, and is a issue within your network, maybe different network name or out of range. If not, then it is your wireless laptop, If your laptop is able to detect your wireless card in the device manager, then you might have a driver promblem, There are FN keys that disable and enable your wireless card. But when you mentioned wirless is enable, that means your wireless card is enable and is working. These arn't really solution but just step by step to see what is wrong.

Hi there,
First of all you need to see two things in the system 1. Drivers 2. Wireless button Light
1. If the drivers are installed you will see wireless icon in the taskbar Hi.
I have just formatted the - bilalseham.jpg
if its not available you can check two things 1. Drivers are installed properly 2. Either its enable or disable
You will see the drivers by right clicking my computer>Manage> Device Manager Right click my Network Places> Properties> wireless network connection right click and select Enable
2. Wireless Button Light Infront of the laptop where you see the Audio Jacks and You see two white buttons (Right one is Wireless Enable/Disable Button) when its Disabled you will not see any light When Enabled you will see Orange light Blinking or stable. Press once and it should get enabled. and if you have installed Launch Manager you will also see notification on screen that WIRELESS ENABLED OR WIRELESS DISABLED
Follow above steps and you will be able to see the wireless connection,

the wireless switch is a button on the front of the casing, which is in the form of a push button which lights up orange or a little slider button.

Hi. make sure that you installed the drivers for your wireless network card since computer is newly formatted. Double checked the wireless switch also if it is switched to ON position. You can also press Fn + F5 key to disable/enable wireless adapter.

Hi. Make sure that all drivers are installed and the wireless card switch is turn on. Try Disabling/Enabling the wireless card by pressing the Fn + F5 key.

Hi,

If you have windows XP on the laptop then perform the steps below:

1. Right click on My Computer icon and go to Manage.
2. Go to Services then go to Service and Applications.
3. Double click on Wireless Zero Configuration.
4. Change the Start Up Type to Automatic and click on Apply.
5. Click on Start and press OK to close the window.
6. Go to 'Control Panel', Click on Classic View in the left hand side menu and then open 'Network Connections'.
7. Right-click on the wireless Network Connection icon and select 'Properties'.
8. Go to the 'Wireless Networks' tab.
9. Check the option 'Use Windows to Configure this Wireless Connection' and click 'OK'.

Now please perform the following instructions to connect to the wireless network:

1. Go to 'Control Panel', Click on Classic View in the left hand side menu and then open 'Network Connections'.
2. Right-click on the wireless Network Connection icon and select 'Properties'.
3. Click on the 'wireless network' tab.
4. In the preferred network box, Select all SSID and remove the name from the list. Once the list is empty, Click OK.
5. Right-click on the wireless Network Connection icon and select 'View Available Networks'.
6. Look for the SSID (aka Network Name) of the Wireless router or access point.
4. Highlight the SSID from the list that you want to connect to.
5. Type the security Key here and click on the 'Connect' button.
6. You should have successfully established a wireless network connection.

For Vista on the laptop:

1. Click START, Click Control Panel then click classic view in left hand side menu.
2. In the main screen, open up NETWORK AND SHARING CENTER.
3. In the left hand side menu open up MANAGE WIRELESS NETWORKS.
4. If you see any name in the list, please select the name and click remove.
5. Once the list is empty, click on ADD, select the first option, ADD A NETWORK THAT IS IN RANGE OF THE COMPUTER.
6. Click on your network name SSID and click on connect. If you have a Password setup on the router enter the security key.
7. This should setup the wireless network.

  1. I assume that you mean you cannot see your wireless network in the "Available Networks" list?
  2. Yes, there will be a switch on the laptop to enable/disable wireless.
  3. Is your router set to broadcast SSID? If it isn't then you won't see it in the list of available networks.

How do you find out what wireless router i have on my computer

The problem tat u r facing is tat after the format the drivers of your wireless card is missing.u need to know the name and the brand of the wireless card u r using,,and install the drivers again,,u might have a cd called resource cd from ur computer manufacturer,,that contains the drivers,,or u can call up tec suppoort of your manufacturer to know the name of the wireless card and how to download the drivers from the net,,best of luckk,a good rating plz
