Problem accessing www.192.168.1.1... I have a linksys Wireless Router WRT54GS v5.1 . I am trying to access the setup area of www.192.168.1.1 and reset my wireless router whichhas stopped working . Normally I can go into this address and get it backup and running by doing a DHCP renew ... unfortunately I get the message Internet explorer cannot open the page .. Can someone help explain why this may be happening I have always been able to access this address over the past 3-4 years without problem.

I am having trouble connecting my Samsung BD-C6500 DVD Bluray to my older Linksys G model WRT54GS ROUTER. HOW DO I FIND MY ACCESS CODE AND/OR PASSWORD TO THIS ROUTER.

Unfortunately, you can't find your Wireless Access Code of your router without knowing the password to access your router configuration. It is because, you can only see the Wireless Access Code by going to the router configuration page and in order to go to the router configuration page, you should know the router password.

You should reset your router to default. In order to do this, you can press the Reset button at the back of your router for 30 seconds. Then you can try to use the user name "admin" and password is "blank" or password or admin as well.

I trying to fix a small office network and need some help. I have a netgear ds116 hub that currently has a linksys WAP54G access point connected to it for wireless access. The access point is not encypted...

So have a hub and a wireless access point at office.
Do u have a router in the network at office ?
The default IP address of the WAP54G will be 192.168.1.245.
The Sonic firewall is a different thing.
I think you are accessing the set up interface of the sonic wall with the IP address 192.168.1.1.
Where is the access point connected ?
Is it connected to the sonic firewall ?
The access point does not have the DHCP server.

Linksysfix.com/ela does not exist??

if you already have a wireless setup the latop (if it has wireless) will pick up the wireless router (if security on the wireless network, just type in the security password). Type 192.168.1.1 into your browser to access the routers configuration page.

Trying to turn a Linksys WRT54GS into a hub

  1. If you want to set the router to work only as a switch with wireless access point, you may need to get into its setup page and adjust some settings.
  2. Using a computer that is wired directly to one of the router's Ethernet ports, launch IE and type 192.168.1.1. It is the default IP address of the router. Then it will open a window, asking for a username and password. By default, there is no username and the password is admin.
  3. Once you're in the router's User Interface, look for a sub tab called "Advanced Routing" under the main tab SETUP. Then set router mode to "Router" instead of Gateway. In some router's, the choice there is NAT enable or disable. If it is the one showing there instead of Router mode, then set NAT to disable. Click Save settings which is located at the bottom portion of the screen.
  4. Then click on "Basic Setup" and then disable DHCP server. Save the settings then.
  5. Then your modem now will be connected to one of the 4 Ethernet ports of the router.
Hope this helps!

Linksys 2.4 model # WRT54GS

Since you're trying to setup the router using the setup CD and it wont finish the installation of it, you can just do a manual setup on the router by accessing its setup page , but if you're not aware on how to do that I suggest you call Linksys tech support so a tech can walk you through with that process, this is the number for Linksys 800-3267114 they are open 24/7.............
