if your zune locks up it is more than likely a bad music or sound file. the best way to unfreeze your 30 gig zune don't laugh it works by putting your zune in the freezer to clear memory and batery.
step1. put it in the freezer for 1 hr
step 2. remove from freezer and allow to come to room temp
step3. plug in and recharge fully
step 5. reload music on zune
Double-check the MENU settings for the audio output. If you use just a 4-pin plug, the ZUNE does NOT use the standard configuration like a Panasonic device does, it is an oddball output on the 4pin plug.
You may have to attempt a Hard Reset if this issue is persistant.
This will erase everything on your device, as a warning please be certian you have backup copies or this is a last resort.
Here is the original post:
WARNING: A hard reset will delete everything on your Zune.
Press and hold the back button
Press and hold up until it reboots
Depending on which Zune you have, immediately do one of the following:
If you have a Zune 4 GB, Zune 8BG, or Zune 80GB, immediately press
and hold the Back button Back at the same time as you press the right
side of the Zune pad and the Play/Pause button. Continue to hold these
buttons until the Zune device restarts and you receive the following
message: “Clearing contents. Please wait.”
If you have a Zune 30GB, immediately press and hold the Back button
Back at the same time that you press the right side of the Zune pad and
the center of the Zune pad. Continue to hold these buttons until the
Zune device restarts and you receive the following message: “Clearing
contents. Please wait.”
it seems as if something may have been attached badly on the inside that is a facttory problem is it still under warenty? if so i would send it back for a new one
As a last resort or if you are receiving error code C00D2772, erase the
device, and then sync your content again. To do this, follow these
steps:
Start the Zune software on the computer.
Connect your Zune device by using the Zune Sync Cable.
Click Settings, and then click device.
Click SYNC OPTIONS, and then click ERASE ALL CONTENT.
When you receive the following message, click Yes:
Please Confirm. Are you sure you want to erase the contents of the connected Zune?
You receive the "Erase All Content" message. This may take several
minutes. Do not move or disconnect the Zune device until the message
disappears.
uhm i think i may have found your solution, that is if your using limewire or some client of the sort, i synced my zune while the program (limewire) was on and downloading music and i had the same problelm you did so i simply deleted all my music and put it back on the zune while limewire was off and now it works fine, i have an 80 gig btw if that matters
after much research on this matter in the past few hours. To resolve this situation don't shut the zune down by holding play/pause button it does not shut down properly that way.
Hold down the down & back button down until shuts off....zune recommends as the best way to turn off your zune. Also if you are having problems holding charge, a lot of people replaced the original charge plug and found that it worked again. these cables usually become faulty from previous models and 30gigs. So buy a new cable & shut it down correctly.
Still no worky??? Call zune, within 1 year they will accept it for repairs. They may even send you a new refurbished zune...since they no longer are making the 30 gig...probably for those reasons.
I hope this advice not only helps you but myself. Who wants an expensive paperweight...not I!
