My name: Jonathan Saylor
I got my new black zune for christmas, there was nothing wrong when I got it. I already put some music on it with no problem. Music plays, raido works, and the games work. I bought a zune charger from best buy. It did cgarge my zune with no problems. One day I was charging the zune with the charger, I went to the menu and it showed a thing called "screen lock''. I cheked it out what it was and I was going to put a four number pasword on it. Then I changed my mind. I hit the back botton to the main screen. I then put it on lock from the top of the zune. Like a half an hour later I unpluged the charger from the wall and unlocked the zune (8GB black) so I can play my music. Here's the problem: after I charged it the screen is gone. There is still a light
but the screen does not show any thing, it's blank. I can still play my music and raido, so nothing is deleated.( It is hard to find my music with no screen to see but I can)
If you can tell me what is wrong how to fix it or what I should do, it will help me out a lot. THANK YOU!!!!!!!
It seems as if something may have been attached badly on the inside that is a facttory problem is it still under warenty? if so i would send it back for a new one

This could be a problem with your USB cable. Thats a main problem when you have already tried it on both of your computers. So buying a new USB could fix the problem. If not, you have a bigger problem and that could be a that the USB hook up to your Zune could have a linkage problem.
I had a similar problem with my 30GB Zune. The first normal solution is to make sure that the USB port is providing enough power to the Zune to charge it by trying a different port or computer, but since your other Zune charges it is likely not the problem.
Other possibly solutions are performing a hard reset on the Zune (hold back and up until it resets), or allowing the zone to completely discharge and try again. In my case, none of these solutions worked and I was forced to send my Zune in for a new battery, which Microsoft was willing to replace for free.
Sounds like a firmware issue or booting problem, you might have to reformat it then reinstall the zune firmware and reupload all you'r media to you'r zune.
Listen everyone this is what happened to me and what I did. Let the battery drain completely (unplugged from computer). It usually takes 5 to 6 hours to drain completely. Then plug back in and hold the back and down button at the same time. Zune should resume functioning afterwards. All that is needed is a recharge.
yes, it can be fixed. rapidrepair.com offers replacement screens for 89.99 and will even replace it themselves if you decide to send it in to them. at this point in time, you might be better off buying a new zune 30 (considering i got a brown one for my sister for about 60 off amazon over Christmas) or just saving up for an 80.
