Hello--my 2004 trailblazer came with a AM/FM Radio with single CD player. recently, when i pop in a CD, the player will start the cd and then, after a few lines of the song, skip back to the beginning of the song or album. the further into the cd i forward, the less likely it will play at all. any thoughts? may be time for a 'new' used player?

Sometimes, the CD player (single disc) interferes with the radio. (At least from my experience!) Just put a CD in the CD Player and press the AM/FM button and this should, I say, SHOULD stop the radio from cycling on and off!
The motors inside the players tend to burn out. You will have to remove player, remove top cover and cradle of the player, and remove your cd. Than either have new motor put in your player or purchase a new player mabey from ebay or equivelant.
I have a 06 Z71 and it did the same thing so more than likely your just going to have to buy a new cd player. I would recommend going with an aftermarket cd player because you probably going to spend just as much on another stock unit.
Try this: Remove the negative battery terminal for 5 minutes. Reconnect the battery termional and see if the CD player "resets" itself. This sometimes works for me.
hello josh!!! I had the same problem, Have you made sure everything on rear is off? If so the front radio will have this headphone looking thing in the top left corner, plug ear phones in & turn rear on. then make sure rear radio is off. turn vehicle off then START it! that resets it.If that doesnt work check fuses!
if you have installed a new cd player in there then the propblem could be that your speaker wires and either touching each other or grounding them selfs out.. pull of the cd player and check to make sure all the speaker wires are covered properly and no bare wires are exposed.. if you still have a factory cd player in it then you will probably need to take it to a dealership to have it checked out..
Does it do it on ALL Cds?
