Every time i turn on my camera with the memory card in it, it turns on but the screen is black. But when i take out the memory card and turn it on it works perfectly. What can i do?

• turn off remove and re insert the batteries first
• remove the memory card
• turn on the unit . if the hour glass does not appear try inserting a different memory card .
• if this works your camera may have trouble reading the old card

First make sure that you are using a 2GB or less standard SD card for your camera. If you are, then see this link for other things that you can try.

follow following steps. I followed all these and its working now :)
1. Ensure batteries are fully charged & clean the battery connector point in side the battery compartment.
2. Look carefully between the lens and the camera body for any sand, dirt or any damaged etc.
3. Try turning the camera with the lens facing down and shake to dislodge anything stuck
4. Try removing batteries and memory card, wait 5 minutes and refit the battery only.
5. Now turn on camera( with out card ) and see ,if working then fix the memory card & again turn on the camera. If working then fine . Otherwise format the memory card and fix back in camera again & try. Make sure before format the memory card take a back up all photos in your computer then format. If no luck then reset or restore the camera setting by pressing Menu key for 2 sec .. in not done the press both Menu & self time key for 2 - 4 sec.

We would like to help but you never gave us the make and model of your camera.

When you removed the card from the computer, did you forget to use the "safely remove hardware" function?

Make sure you are using a 2GB SD card or smaller. Make sure the camera is set for Camera Mode not Playback. That is the switch that shows a camera or a square with an arrow in it. When the camera is in play back the lens will not come out until the camera is set for camera mode. The no image in playback will occur every time you use an SDHC type memory card. Formatting the memory will not make the camera take the SDHC type cards since it was never designed to use them.

transfer your files on the computer so that you can use again your camera.. buy new memory card for the camera

Mybe it's the memory card problem. my memory card became unusable, then i had to get a new one and then the pictrues were taken again.

have you got a memory card in it ? As the on board memory 22MB could be full?
