Hi frenofurs05,

Thank you for the post.

I suggest trying the following methods to troubleshoot the issue:

Method 1: Startup Repair from the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE)

============================================

1. Insert the Windows Vista installation disc into the disc drive, and then start the computer.

2. Press a key when the message indicating "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD ...". appears.

3. Select a language, a time and currency, and a keyboard or input method, and then click Next.

4. Click Repair your computer.

5. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, choose the drive of your Windows installation and click Next.

6. At the System Recovery Options Dialog Box, click on Repair your computer.

7. Click the operating system that you want to repair, and then click Next.

8. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click Startup Repair.

Method 2: Rebuild BCD

============================================

1. Put the Windows Vista installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer.

2. Press a key when the message indicating "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD ...". appears.

3. Select a language, a time, a currency, and a keyboard or another input method, and then click Next.

4. Click Repair your computer.

5. Click the operating system that you want to repair, and then click Next.

6. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click Command Prompt.

7. Type Bootrec /RebuildBcd , and then press ENTER.

Method 3: Use the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) to run System Restore ============================================

5. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, choose the drive of your Windows installation and click Next

6. At the System Recovery Options Dialog Box, click on System Restore.

7. Follow the System Restore Wizard instruction as usual and choose the appropriate restore point.

8. Click Finish to restore the system.

Note:I just pasted this answer from other person cause its very long when i will wrote it and i think the better one than my explanation.

regards,
mastergani

Bootmgr is missing press ctrl+alt_del to restart

Welcome to Fixya

This means that the windows bootmanager failed to to load during the boot up process. This caused by virus or corrupted file. There is no way to recover window aside from restoring the computer back to the factory state.

Restore to factory:

Turn off the computer then press the button located beside the power button. That button is called the ONE KEY BUTTON. This will take you to the software that will restore your computer. Please take not that everything will be wipe out there once you do this procedure. End result will be a brand neww installed windows.

Windows boot manager failed to start - message - a recent hardware or software change might be the cause. I don't have a repair disc and it will not reboot. Thank You L

sorry to hear about the problem

I've used easyBCD to repair a windows boot manager, you may have to download it in another working machine, then burn it as bootable cd (using nero or similar image burning software), pop it in and when you start your computer make sure you have your cd/dvd drive unit as the first boot option so you go right into the cd ,

try the following instructions here to see if they may help, post back if you have further questions

repairing bootmanager

hope this helps

Bootmanager

Make sure the hold/lock is not engaged

In some rare cases, you may have to right click the device and select "enable" - but this is rare, since enable is the default
