I recently bought a Korg Microsampler and I can't transmit data via USB/Midi either from it to my PC, nor from my PC to the microsampler. My PC is a Toshiba with Windows Vista. I already installed the Korg editor/librarian software in my computer, and the most recent USB/MIDI driver downloaded directly from Korg.com The computer does recognize the microsampler because it is shown in the Windows' Control Panel, but when I try to transmit or receive data from one device to another, it appears a message indicating: "Failed to start communicating with Microsampler. Please make sure that microsampler is connected and USB midi driver is installed". As I said, those two possible causes shouldn't be my problem. Also, the "Protect" setting is turned off in my Microsampler and I don't have any other Midi based communication running in my computer that could be obstructing the microsampler data transfer. Please advice. Thank you, Mauricio Gonzalez Amon Costa Rica

Check the firewall in both places in control panel ..and on the antivirus if it has...and try to turn it off and see if it works ..cause if you have the correct driver and the software ..and it is seen already ..

check in device manager and see if ti is ok ..if it is in yellow it needs another driver cause it is not working ..look for the device by name ..

Keep the fey board hooked to the computer, and unplug the computer from the wall for a couple of minutes, that will clear the processors, and now plug back in and make sure key board is turn on, and reboot the computer and it should work fine,

Backup sr16 to another sr16

You can send the current patches and programs along with your songs and sequences via MIDI cable from one to the other. Done it many times using a MIDI thing called SYSEX dumps.

You have to hook the MIDI OUT of the unit you want to duplicate to the MIDI IN of the new machine.

Go through the SYSTEM menu and there is a menu item for SYSEX DUMP. Select that and hit the enter and the new one will receive the dump. Both of them will be programmed identically.

Can two d3200 recorders connected and record 24 tracks simultaneously

I will assume you want to sync the two as one. I have one of these sitting in a closet. The 3200 will record 12 tracks at a time if I remember correctly. I believe the Korg will sync to Midi Time code. I just wonder if the midi implementation allows for start and stop code. Anyway, I found this information:
x2. MIDI messages used by the D3200 Note On (Note, velocity), aftertouch, pitch-bend:
The D3200 uses these messages to control effects.
Program change:
The D3200 uses these messages to switch scenes.
Control change:
The D3200 uses these messages to control mixer and
effect parameters.
MMC (MIDI Machine Control):
MMC messages can be transmitted from the D3200 to control an external MMC-compatible sequencer or recorder. MMC messages received from an external sequencer or recorder can be used to control the D3200.
MTC (MIDI Time Code):
The D3200 can transmit or receive MTC messages to
synchronize with an external sequencer or recorder.
MIDI Clock:
The D3200 can transmit MIDI Clock. It can also receive MIDI Clock if you have selected MIDI Clock for the tempo track and are recording the tempo track.

I am trying to connect my Korg M1 via my presonus interface into my Studio One program. HOw do I get connected after MIDI cables are hooked up?

Hope i did not miss understood...
If MIDI is hooked up there are only the audio signals left to connect...
Try to connect the audio outputs from the M1 to the DI´s of the interface via instrument line cables and routing them to/in your software...then set up midi channels for one instrument track that triggers the M1 and activate an audio track to record/monitor your incoming M1 audio signal

I want to record from my Korg M50 to Cubase LE4 on my laptop.

Hello, To record into a lap top you will need a USB mixer, your audio output from the SYNTH will go into the mixer, you use the midi USB cable from the mixer to the lap top. this will help pre amplify your synth to normal audio levels. hope this helps.

While using korg m50 editor using usb data cable there is no sound from my lap.the sound is only from my head phone connected to my keyboard directly?

Are you connecting to the laptop and using it as a midi controller? You can record midi notes from the keyboard and send them to your laptop via USB using any midi sequencer program (reason, logic, etc). Create a midi track, select the input of that track as your keyboard, then hit record to play some midi notes. To hear what you record, you have to set the output of the midi track to whatever midi sounds or instrunents you have installed on your laptop.

If you are trying to record the actual audio sound the keyboard makes, use an audio program such as cubase, sonar, audacity, pro-tools, and either mic the keyboard, or connect one of the other audio outputs (1/4" TRS) to an audio input on your DAW, and record an audio track that way (as opposed to a midi track).

Hi Iam using my korg pa50 as the master keyboard ive connected the midi cables to my other keyboard which is a yamaha psr9000 I cannot play the chords on the pa50 using the styles on the psr9000 is there...

The styles on the PSR9000 are NOT available on the PA50. Any styles of the PSR9000 would only come from the audio generation and outputs of the PSR9000. The PSR9000 would have to be setup to the style independently as that cannot be controlled via MIDI from the PA50 controls.

Roland RD-700SX as MIDI keyboard

Theres a good article at recordingreview.com. If you join which is free you have access to a lot of great information. You can download Midiox to troubleshoot your midi connections etc. Make sure that your transmit channel on your keyboard matches up with the receive channel in your program. Hope this helps.

Yamaha 61 key keyboard midi usb connected but what next

Depending on what you want to do...

If it's only music Mixing, you will have to plug your keyboard via audio jack to the line in of your computer. Then Audacity (free soft) can do the job.

If you want to edit midi file with your keybord you will need midi editor software like Linux-Rosegarden or if under windows try LMMS (all free soft of course).

Good luck

Electronic drum kit, with USB out, problem

Sounds to me like you have the midi tracks outputting to the microsoft midi mapper or wavetable synth, which is built into the sound chip in your pc, and that this is conflicting with the mobilepre sound card - midi is just data, no audio, needs to drive some kind of synth. what you want to do is disable your internal sound card thru device manager, then just use the m-audio mobile pre as the input/output sound card in ASIO mode - you'll need to monitor via the headphone jack on the mobile pre or plug speakers into the line outs on the interface.

Then do tutorial 8 (in help files) on using soft synths - INSERT>SOFTSYNTHs creates a midi track and an audio track in a track folder.

Good luck.

The dude.
