I can not seem to find out how to run my cable line through my DVD/VHS combo and into my TV. I have to use the DVD/VHS combo to run cable to my TV because the coax input on my TV broke off and I have to use the red, white, and yellow plugs. How would I do that?

Dear hugoreyes456,
On the rear side of your DVP3345VB you should find a bunch of RCA connectors. There is a column on the right side with the title VCR - AUDIO IN - VIDEO IN.
May I ask you to try plug your cable box to this connectors and the DVP3345VB to your TV.
Before trying it, may I ask you to check that you get video directly from the DVP to your TV when playing a DVD or a VHS tape?
Regards,
Eddie Knight

I have a apex tv and a dvd/vhs recorder, with a cable from wall only, how do I install

If you wish to record (VHS) off cable :
First connect the co-ax cable from the wall to the input on the DVD/VHS , then connect a second from the output of the DVD/VHS to the input of the TV.
You will need to match the channel (3/4) output and input. There should be a switch on the back of the DVD/VHS.
Tune the TV to channel 3 or 4 to match, To watch DVD/VHS .
Channel selection will be with the DVD/VHS when it is powered on.
TV will tune to channel when the DVD/VHS is off.

I have a Panasonic DMR-ES30V. I've only ever recorded from what I'm watching on the TV to a DVD. I now have a VHS tape that I'd like to record to DVD. I tried starting the dvd to record...

Most Combo Recorders (VHS and DVD) will prevent you from
recording a Copyrighted VHS tape program onto DVD.
Try recording a TV program onto your VHS tape, then
transfer it to your DVD and see if your new DVD recording
will work or not.

Dear Technician, I have 4 components that I am trying to connect together, a Panasonic HDTV model #TC-L32X1, a GO Video DVD/VCR model #DV2130, a Yamaha stereo receiver model#RX-690, and a Scientific...

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Unfortunately, size limitation of what could be attached prevents posting a connection diagram. Still, proposed connection scheme:
  • 4250HDC's HDMI to Panasonic's HDMI 1 or 2;
  • 4250HDC's VIDEO OUT to GoVideo's LINE IN 1 VIDEO;
  • 4250HDC's AUDIO OUT to 2 pcs of RCA Splitters (shown below);
  • 1 pair from the 2 splitters to GoVideo's LINE IN 1 R-AUDIO-L;
  • the other pair to Yamaha's LD/TV L & R;
  • GoVideo's LINE OUT VIDEO to Panasonic's VIDEO IN 1 VIDEO;
  • GoVideo's LINE OUT R-AUDIO-L to 2 more RCA Splitters;
  • 1 pair from the 2 splitters to Panasonic's VIDEO IN 1 L-AUDIO-R;
  • the other pair to Yamaha's VCR 1 IN L & R;
  • to watch cable TV in HD quality, set Panasonic to HDMI 1 or 2 by pressing Panasonic remote's INPUT button, then 3 (or 4), then OK;
  • to hear cable TV programs on Yamaha's speakers, set Yamaha to LD/TV;
  • to watch DVD or VHS, set Panasonic to Video 1 by pressing Panasonic remote's INPUT button, then 6, then OK;
  • to hear DVD or VHS on Yamaha's speakers, set Yamaha to VCR 1;
  • to record cable TV programs, press GoVideo remote's TV VIEW button a couple of times to cycle through the signal sources or until Line 1 is displayed.

The use of the splitter shown below would effectively double the AUDIO OUT of the cable box and the DVD/VCR combo to feed both the TV and the stereo. Additionally, this would allow use of the cable box and/or the DVD/VCR combo with or without the Yamaha.

Do they make a DVD/VHS Combo with a built in decoder that will connect to my Analog TV using only a coaxil cable?

99.99% of the combo units that have a tuner inside have been phased out.
You do need an external tuner to get cable through to the combo unit. The only combo units that I have seen that has a tuner in it already and hooks up to the coax is one that is a vhs/dvd RECORDER and not just a vhs/dvd PLAYER. You pay extra for the built in tuner and also for the dvd recording features.

I can play DVD's but not VHS tapes. I hav checked all connections and several tapes to no avail. Thank you ! Ol' Fred

Hey Ol' Fred...
One of my good friends is an ol Fred so I felt compelled to stop in and help!
I'm not sure of your setup, but if you've got a combo DVD/VHS unit, make sure that you have out puts to the TV for Both parts separately... You can designate by accessing the TV's onscreen menu and setting up a separate source for DVD and one for VHS. I've found on my projection TV that it's best to use the Coax cable connections for the VHS to TV.
Then once it's setup with separate hookups to the Tv, you should have audio and video for VHS...

How do I connect my Magnavox DVD/VHS player to my Element Flat screen TV?

Do you have a newer TV or a older one lets start with a newer models does your tv have 3 or more jacks on the back or front you should see a RED, YELLOW and WHITE if you have a HDTV you should see more. (LETS HOOK UP) Did your DVD/VCR come with a cables if not you will need to buy at least 2 they are called RCA cables Lets start with the dvd/vcr combo on the back you should see a (LINE OUT) this is where playback or your picture and sound come out. On the back of the TV you should see a (LINE IN) this is where you plug it in to. RED goes to RED, WHITE goes to WHITE and YELLOW goes to YELLOW. To Record you will need to hook up the line in on your combo and the line out to your tv. ( IF YOU HAVE AN OLDER T.V WITH NONE OF THOSE JACKS ) you will need to buy a RF- MODULATOR the are cheap it is a box that let you hook a cable wire to a little box and the RCA jacks to you combo and you will turn your tv to channel 3 or 4

Hooking up my DVD/VHS player to TV & Convertor box

I would just hook up the dvd/vhs player with the red,white,yellow rca cables that should of come with your unit and just go to the input on the tv to watch your dvd/vhs player. This will give you a better picture and sound while allowing you not to have to watch dvd/vhs on a channel which helps make the dvd/vhs player independent. Also if possible I would hook the converter box up with the red,white, yellow rca cables to the tv as well if your tv has more than one set of red,white,yellow plugs since it is a better connection that coax and you probably watch more tv than vhs/dvd anyway. So bottom line try to hook up both boxes red,white,yellow and watch each box on different inputs instead of like channel 3 or 4. Also to record of converter box you can run coax from converter box to dvd/vhs combo and make sure your dvd/vhs player is on tuner input or channel 3.

Dvd recorder

Following the instructions on hooking up the cables gave me fits. I finally just put the instructions away and winged it. Got it that way. Bypass your Ilo tuner. Hook the Comcast Cable (outs) up to the A/V input 1 of your ILO. Hook your tv combo A/V outputs, to the ILO A/V inputs. Select the Source and choose the cable source for cable and the combo source to tape from your VHS/dvd combo. Its a pain but you have to select Source everytime you turn the Ilo back on. You could hook your Cable to the ILO but would have to turn on ILO everytime to watch tv. Two remotes is a chore but you have to use tv remote for the volume anyway so it doesn't matter. Hope this helps.

Samsung CXD2512 TV/VCR Combo...Cannot hook up DVD player

We also don't have a remote. We hooked a DVD/VCR combo to the Samsung combo by attaching the cable from the cable line to the DVD player and an additional cable from DVD to TV and it used to work but after we lost the control, the DVD can only be listened to but not seen. The VHS from the DVD player works perfectly though.

When we had the remote (before connecting the other combo) we used line-in to see a DVD or VHS using the yellow red and white cables from the Samsung to the other player.
