My LG tumble dryer does not heat up, the motor runs and everything tumbles inside but it does not heat up. what could be the cause of this?

Hi, If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heatingthe most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glowssometimes it is still not working properly. if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip.... If you have an electric dryer, you can have many differentthings that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat. check outthis electric no heat tip...

Dryer tumbles won't heat

The problem could be related to one of the following; Not enough power from the house, a bad or broken heating element, a bad thermal fuse, or a brake in the wiring.

Solution
Check the house voltage for 220-240
Do a continuity test on the heating element.
Do OHM reading on thermal fuse.
Check wiring to heating element.

Tumble dryer not heating

Hi irshaad,
If all the componants are good, you are loosing voltage somewhere. Check the voltage to the dryer. If you do not have 220 volts then you have a blown fuse or a kicked breaker in your fuse box. This would allow only 110 volts to get to the dryer and the dryer would run and not heat. If you have the correct voltage to the dryer check the connections on the terminal block and the wires to the block. Before going any further than that I would really rather have your model so I could guide you correctly. Good luck and I really hope this will FixYa.

Tumble dryer

Can be a few things. Start by resetting your circuit breaker. The dryer motor can run with partial power but the heating element cannot. Make sure your not set to a no heat setting. After those checks you have to get into the mchine to check your heating element and thermostats.
