Lcd display for picture not coming on - Canon Cameras

  • Anonymous Jul 21, 2008

I'm having the same problem. My screen is black, but it will show the different camera settings depending on what you have it set on. It is black when I have it set to take pictures and also black when I have it set to view the pictures I've already taken. Also, all the pictures I've taken while the screen were black are also black. Yes...the lens is open when I'm trying to take pictures. All the other functions on the camera seem to be working. I have also put brand new batteries in the camera. Any ideas what is going on? Thanks!

I have a compaq presario 2100 model#2140US when I go to turn it on I can here is boot up but no picture on the screan. Any ideas on what it could be and where I can buy the part?

Try use the external monitor. Did display come out? If come out the problem is your lcd, replace lcd. If not come out try to press below your lcd screen frame. Sometime cable broke and make no display to your lcd. Second last, try to check your inverter, because inverter supply a power to make lcd display comeout. Last choice, change your mobo.

No lcd display and no pictures

A stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open).

To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see the following for further info and a simple fix that may help:

Blank LCD screen on shooting mode, but does show settings. Will not take pictures. Replaying mode works, shows pictures taken before screen went blank. New batteries. What is going on??? Is it...

The Display button manually turns the LCD display on or off to save batteries. If you accidentally had turned the LCD off, It should only take one press of the button to turn it back on and leave it that way. As such, it's not you but the camera. The A570 IS is relatively new. Your camera is likely still under warranty. If so, contact Canon for warranty repair (see the following link):
