I have a 10-year old Carrier Gas pack Model #48GS024060301. Turned on the heat for the first time this season and the unit did not turn on. I was able to turn on the house circulation fan and since it...

If the induction motor ain't going I would look for a blown 3 amp (purple) fuse on the control board. If that was good I would check if any of the roll out switches were tripped. If a rollout switch was tripped check or air restrictions somewhere.

Furnace unit to be louder now than last season

Check your air filter, make sure all registers are open full and there is no restriction in all ducts. Could be an unbalanced fan, clean the squirll cage fan with a brush and vacuum.

Does nothing at all.

Test the power cord where it connects to the unit.

Pinnacle 1.5 hp inground pool pump making a lot of noise- it's only 2 years old and at the end of last season was much louder than it should be

Is pump moving water at a normal rate and pressure? If so, then you are in need of a bearing replacement. There is no specific lifetime for bearings or shaft seals, however two years would be at the lower end of scale. Have front and rear bearings replaced along with shaft seal.

Rule H53sp-24 pool cover pump trips GFI breaker

GFI devices are prone to degrade over time. Also, when used outdoors there are additional moisture issues that may cause sufficient current leakage to trip the breaker.

I had a similar problem this Spring. I was using a 20 amp GFI "master" outlet that protected two additional outlets 'downstream' of it (wired to the 'load' terminals on the GFI outlet- I'd have the check the doc. to see what terminology was used here). The pump was plugged into one of the downstream outlets.

Replacing the GFI seemed to solve the problem. I did ante up $20 for an 'outdoor' model of the 20 amp GFI unit, several bucks more than the standard 'indoor' unit - have no ideal if that represented additional value or not.

Note also, that this is the third such pump I have used for my pool cover. The other two failed to come on at all after about a year's use. The mfg replaced them under warranty (I may have had to send back the old pump - I forget!).

Not pumping

The pump is seized or the fuse is blown.

D1796 3-4 years old. Power on, lights flash, but when close door to start d/w, no noises made, water does not flow or anything. Water supply is on. Water valve to d/w open. Worked flawlessly until today.

here could be two problems...The drain could be clogged, or the water pump could be bad. Or the belt that runs the pump is sliping or broken. [edit] Steps
  1. Fill washer with water and wait for the timer to get to the drain mode.
  2. Unplug the washer from the electric outlet.
  3. Open the case, and disconnect the water hose from the outlet of the water pump.
  4. If you get water pouring out from the pump, then plug that up and check the hose to the sewer. If that is clogged, then you have found the problem.
  5. Some washers have a self cleaning filter in that hose somewhere. Check that to be sure it is working properly.
  6. Reassemble hose from step 3.
  7. Plug washer back in. If it pumps out now, then you are done. If it doesn't, then the water pump is probably defective, so replace it.
  8. Reassemble washing machine case...you're done...
