DVd RW drive not open - HP Compaq 6515b Notebook

This occurs often will CDrom/DVD's. There are two other ways of getting it open. One is to go to my computer, right click on the dvd drive and select eject. The other method is to look for a tiny hole, usually just below the door. Take a paperclip, bend it out and insert this carefully into the hole. This should open the door enough that you can pull out the drive caddy.Sometimes this will be enough to get the drive actiing normally, other times a rubber belt inside the drive has stretched enough times that it no longer opens the door reliably. You usually can continue to use the drive, but eventually you'll find that having to manually eject is too frustrating and replace the drive.

Can you see a small hole on the front bay just below the panel... you need to poke the hole with a needle and it should slowly open the tray...

Well, it may have got jammed. so try this trick.....
If you look at the dvd/rw drive..on the side of the button of the drive...you will find a very tiny hole so take a paper pin and insert it in the tiny hole if the drive is opened great!!! otherwise get it replaced as the dvd/rw drives are not costly thesedays..

your lens of your dvd rw has been displaced go to any technician and get it ready

you have a faulty disk inserted in the drive. Restart the computer and continuously press eject while the pc is booting, it should eject then.

Double check the Ribbon Cable Connector is installed Correctly ( 40-80 Strand IDE ) sometimes if these are not fitted squarely Or pushed in hard enough. Can cause a Problem.
Also try the emergency eject procedure on The Drive. Small jewellers screwdriver Or Needle, insert into the drives faceplate ( pinhole in drives faceplate drawer ) push to open dvd drawer. pull out drawer Gently. And push back in. This ocassionally works for a stcking Drawer/eject mechanism.
Finally try the drive without a disk in ( open/eject Or Close )

ok any one open dvd drive clean lenss with cottin net fit same dvd use the dvd & cd data check data cable. open carefully ok you don't know contact H/W Eng : if Any Problam My email id : [email protected]

When you open Nero select copy dvd. Select the dvd-rom as the read drive. Put the dvd to be copied in there. Select the dvd-rw as the write drive and place a blank dvd r or dvd rw in it the select copy.

u can see a pin hole on the drive just above the open button or the green light...press the button once n poke the hole with a pin ,,,,it ll hit a soft end...continue pressing it with some force....the tray will open...

sony dvd-rw tray is not open help me
