Hello

Well, i had to pay $300 once because of a hard drive failure. Just 3 weeks previous to this incident, i also had my drive in for repairs.

Hence, i would rather suggest that you replace the Hard drive, rather than to repair it. The fact is, once the drive starts giving problems, it will let you down some way or another.

Hope this can be of help.

Kind regards
Andrea

My computer says ,(back up your files immediately to prevent information loss, and then contact the computer manufacturer to determine if you need to repair or replace disk)

Hi familiacash2,

This is an impending warning of a failing disk. Your hard drive stands a risk of failing. In order not to lose your files and important documents, including your system files, you have to back them on to any external device. It could be an external hard drive or even another pc. But for your system recovery softwares/files, dont back them on to the recovery partition of your hard drive(you would loose them if the crash occurs). Also back them on to any external device..
To back up your recovery fiels, when the message comes on again, and you have the external device to back on to, connect it to your pc, and click the notification banner at the bottom of your screen prompting you to perform the back up, and allow the system files to back it self onto the external disk.
When you are done with that, format your pc and do a reinstallation. If the message still occurs, then contact your manufacturers, for them to check the disk.

Hope that helped?
Have a wonderful day.

Windows always giving notification bad hard disk

Bad Hard disk means a lot of disk partition is damaged and you will have to do a **** check to see how damaged the disk is for disk check and trying to repair it. the command Chkdsk can repair problems related to bad sectors, lost clusters, cross-linked files, and directory errors. log on with administrator rights and open My Computer then left click and now click down on properties, click on the Tools option and Click Check Now then select both the Automatically fix file system errors and the Scan fro and attempt recovery of bad sectors, click Start and Restart...During Restart allow the scan to take place, it will take some time but it is worth waiting. Another simple way to run the disk check is by entering the command Chkdsk in the command prompt, click start then click Run then type in CMD after the command prompt appears (normally a window with a black classic display) type in the command Chkdsk after check is done enter Chkdsk /f ......(to fix the errors)

Hard Disk problem, not working in normal mode, working only safe mode. Msg in window ''REPAIR/REPLACE YOUR HARD DISK''. LENOVO Laptop Ser No - G550, Description G Series Laptop - 2958G8Q. Contact No...

It appears your hard disk may failing. Back up your data while in safe mode. Then do an in-place operating system repair if you can. But if the hard drive is failing, it will need to be replaced.

Attach an external hard disc and put all your data in it. If the PC came with this OS then hp must have given a rescue disc, use that to boot and follow the instructions on the screen.........sodeep

S.M.A.R.T Command failed

It means that the hard disk SMART monitoring system has detected problems serious enough to warn you of the growing possibility of hard disk failure. Sometimes a drive will last quite awhile after this first notification, but there is a good chance of imminent failure, in minutes, hours, days, or weeks. You should immediately look into installing a replacement drive.

You should immediately copy any important data off the drive, perform full backups, and limit use of it.

If you can install drives yourself, a new hard disk (especially Seagates) usually come with software to clone your existing drive to the new drive. Otherwise, a repair shop will be able to do it for you.

I recommend also purchasing a drive enclosure for your old drive. For whatever life it still has, it will be a good backup of your system.
