Does the older Dell have a wireless radio?

If not, you'll have to use an ethernet cable to the 2wire router or buy a wireless USB card for about $35 or less for the old Dell. I'm assuming you are running XP SP2 or higher system.

I need help setting up my laptop with my Dsl service. I have a Desk Top computer with DSL and ot one time I had my laptop and my Desk Top pn the same service line. My wireless Gateway 2wire router with...

You can manually go into the network settings and delete the old network configuration, and set up a new one. If all else fails, go to your desktop (which I am assuming connects OK) and check the settings on it, and use those to set up the laptop. Hope this helps

I have lynskys router connected my dell desktop computer. My router is suppose to pick up signals all over my condo for the laptop that i have. But it knocks out the internet on my desk top.

I have a question...

Does the laptop recieve internet connection?

If so, go to your router and plug in another ethernet cord into the first, second, third slot and then plug the other end into your desktop's ethernet slot.

For the 2nd laptop, first upgrade the LAN card driver, then reinstall the driver if the problem is not resolved with the driver upgrade.

Hope this helps.

Linksys router vs. hp computer

First of all u should ensure that DHCP server is configured for your required number of computers. this problem seems that you have less clients configured in your DHCP server, existing in router configuration.

Can't get internet connection to my lap top.ps i have a desk top.

Is your laptop wireless adapter correctly configured? It may be set to only recieve certain types of signals (802.11b, when you may beed 802.11g etc), so check if the configuration of the laptop matches the configuration of the router.

To test if the laptop can get internet at all, try to get to a wired internet line (your wireless router may have some Ethernet ports on the back; laptops usually have Ethernet connectivity), just incase your laptop is set to block all internet signals coming in.

Hope this helps!

Trying to connect desk top computer and lap top computer

There is only two ways to possibly connect both the desktop and the laptop in the network. That is to purchase a router so you can connect them both or a route with a wireless and then the laptop (Which most new ones have a wireless capability installed) can connect wireless from anywhere in the home. If you already have a Cable or DSL Modem it may have a wireless capability. Otherwise you would have to get a wireless modem. Hope this helps. Bud

Lap top problem

Wireless network adapters require an associated wireless receiver (such as a wireless router or wireless access point) to recieve the radio signals from the adapter and eventually route them to a wire and in you case it would be the wire providing internet services to your desktop computer. If there is no wireless receiver there is no device to convert the radio communications of the wireless adapter and rout those signals to the internet.

I hope this helps.
