Prints only a portion of the photo and occasionally shoots out a totally blank white photo sheet. This will occur 10-15 times then eventually goes back to copying a good print. Causing alot of wasted ink and paper. Also a couple weeks ago was printing solid orange copies (lasted for about 20 copies then returned to normal). Need help on if it can be fixed and where or something that I can do to fix it and if not, is there anyone in the OKC, OK area for repairs or where do I send it . Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

How can I print only black and white

If you're printing the photos yourself and it's film then you have to use black and white film, chemicals and paper. Otherwise, shoot black and white film and send it to a photo lab. If you're talking digital then you're in the wrong catagory here. This is film cameras only.

5x7 inch paper moves towards end of print and black ink smudges edge of paper

Check for any small paper jam. Check the rollers, also use an alcohol swab to clean the rollers and check for ink leaking. Check you ink pad, it could be time for a new one.

Photoshp CS2 print differnet photos on one sheet photo paper

Hi,

for printing multiple photos in different layouts, photoshop might not be the best program.
You can howerver do it, here is how:

Open a new document with the preset letter (if your printer prints letter format) or Din A4 (if it prints A4 pages).

Open the three (or more, or less =) photos, so that you have four windows in photoshop (one is the blank page)

now with the move tool (tool palette -> top left corner) drag and drop the photos onto the blank page you created.

They might be too big (or too small). In order to change that, hit strg-T (if youre mac thats apple-T).
This will show a frame around the photo, where you can drag the corners to enlarge or shrink the photo. Hold down shift while doing that so the picture stays in proportion (youll see what i mean).

When the pic is the right size, hit the okay button on top of the workspace or just hit enter.

arrange your photos and hit File->Print with Preview (or something like that)
Now you can see how the printer is going to print the page.
If its cut of, youll have to go to Page Setup and set it to Landscape mode (or Portrait)

When you hit okay, Photoshop might tell you that the printer will cut off edges of your picture. This usually isnt true because the edges of your page should be white anyways (most printers dont print to the border of the page, so calculate 1,5 cm or so)

so just hit proceed and print

I hope this wasnt too complicated, come back with more questions if you want =)
also, be sure to try picasa from google for organizing photos (i think you can print from there too)

Have an eson stylus cx9400F

Every time you do a nozzle clean routine in an inkjet printer, like the Epson CX9400Fax, ink is wasted. When it is $20.00 for a quarter ounce, that is wasteful to your wallet too. The nozzle head cleaning routine flushes your ink from the cartridge through a tube to the nozzle, where it mostens the nearly microscopic holes and flushes hardened ink residue away.

The wasted ink from machines often goes through a rubber gasket or wiper, and into a large, thick felt pad, maybe an inch thick, hidden deep inside, near the bottom of the printer, where it eventually soaks in and dries. In some machines, this happens every time you start the printer, so it makes sense to keep it plugged in. Each cartridge uses some ink, even if you only use it for black and white, so you pay a lot for something you don't even use.

Unfortunately, HP and Epson abuse the trust that users put in them. Word is that HP makes more money on cartridges than it does in printers and plotters. This leads to poor printer design that makes it impossible to refill cartridges, get 3rd party cartridges, or use a printer for black and white and not waste color ink.
