If you read the Philips support page for this problem it actually says "you have too many media files on the device"! Seriously.. This is a 4 GB player and I only have it half full and am experiencing the same problem. Unacceptable.

If you have just added a lot of songs, which usually happens on your first load, then 2 minute bootup/updating or longer is normal - the more songs you add in a sitting, the longer it will take to boot up.

Blinking light on laptop?

From Hp the blinking light indicates sleeping mode. Suggest you push the power button for 20 to 30 seconds. The light should go out. Repower on the computer. If it goes back to blinking mode then there is a hardware issue.

I turn it on and it goes through the normal sequnce to boot up and then there is just a black screen. No image or login page. Nothing!!

1. Try to boot in the safe mode by pressing F8 at the time of booting. Clear all temp files and scan for virus and remove. now restart and check it.(Note: In safe mode it may take more time to login than normal mode just wait).
2. If it is not even going to the safe mode, then using your OS cd, choose the update option at the time of installation when it asks and install it.

Dell Inspiron 1525 Laptop..the screen goes almost black after 5 minutes.

The screen goes black while in normal mode right? So try to boot in safe mode (power on then keep tapping F8 then select safe mode). Check if still happens in safe mode.

If screen does not goes black in safe mode it means there might be a software or driver causes problem when running in normal mode. You can try the following (update your anti virus software then run a full system scan, uninstall the video driver then download and install the latest one, uninstall any previous windows update or you can system restore to the time when it was working fine).

If the screen goes black even in safe mode they try connecting the laptop to an external monitor if still goes black, if yes then absolutely no issues with the LCD panel. You can try (uninstall and reinstall the video driver if still persist then this might end up replacing video card or motherboard, but before doing that update the BIOS first).

If does not goes black in ext monitor then the LCD panel might causes the problem. Reseat the LCD cable or inverter if you can.

Acer5920 stuck in configuring updates.

This is generally caused by bad blocks in the Master Boot Record(Table). The drive itself is probably not salvagable. You'll need a reputable reapir person to slave your drive to another system to get the data off.

Good Luck

After 2 - 10 Minutes Satellite connection is lost

Try this and see if it fixes your problem....first disable bluetooth then follow these steps.

1. Power off the unit.

2. HOLD down the power button and you will see "Pre Boot Mode" appear on the lower part of the display. KEEP HOLDING the power button down and the display will flicker, do this until the pre boot mode message disappears. This seems to take a long time (60 seconds at least).

3. Once the pre boot mode message disappears release the power button and your device will perform some activites to recover from the above problem.

Lenovo booting problem

so u;re saying that the BIOS tests are taking 10 minutes ?! Usually that happenes when the computer shutes down brutally (after power surges, by removing the battery ... by forced shut down). Try doing a BIOS update, and also set it so it will skip some tests or not to do through testing ....

Power cycles on/off without actually booting or starting

Unplug/replug try again. If fails, see if you are still under warranty with Philips.

It could be the hard drive, it could be the unit. The first, and easiest step is to replace the drive.
