Hello there,
I had issues installing SP1 as well. I fixed it by restarting my computer and pressing F2 when the computer is booting up (Before that windows 7 loading pops up) and booting into SAFE MODE WITH NETWORKING. I then updated my computer in safe mode and everything seemed to work out okay.
If that still doesnt work, try downloading the SP1 first:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=c3202ce6-4056-4059-8a1b-3a9b77cdfdda
And then try to install it from safe mode.
I hope this helps! Thumbs up are much appreciated.
I would recommend booting your pc to Safe Mode and restoring your system back to a date BEFORE the crash happened. When you power on your pc, press F10 or F8 until you hear a beep. This will bring up a command function for you to select what you would like to boot to . Choose Safe Mode.
You are probably heading for a reinstall of the os (or restore). You can try booting in safe mode (f8 after acer logo goes away, then arrow up on keyboard to safe mode (mouse wont work in this mode), then hit enter.
If this still doesnt work, check your manual on restoring your system.
your operating system files is corrupt, that's why your computer is showing you that message.Your computer cannot but except the it is repaired.
To repair your windows, you will need the Cd that came with your computer, that's what you will be needing in other to repair your system.
Also, you can still boot your system by booting in safe mode. To boot in safe mode, restart your computer and immediately, keep pressing "F8" on your keyboard, a black screen will come up and you will see a booting option, scroll to safe mode and press enter.
Once your system boots up in safe mode, you can restart your system and the problem might be solved.
It sounds like you boot file may be corrupt. Try booting your system to the safe mode and choose the "Last Know Good Start Up" from the menu. You can get to safe mode by booting your pc and pressing F8 while it is booting. If you are not able to boot to safe mood, you may be left with having to reinstall the os again.
If there is no media in the card reader, press F8 after the laptop beeps during boot and this should give you a Safe Mode boot screen, choose Safe Mode and then your default OS listed. After you get your desktop, restart the laptop.
If when you press F8 you get a boot from what screen, choose your hard drive and then immediately press F8 again to get the Safe Mode boot screen.
You need to either remove the flash media or use Safe Mode and then restart to reset the Boot Ini information script.
Let me know if this works for you or not, as we may need to take another measure.
If it happens at 'random' times, and won't restart immediately, most likley it's overheating due to dust blocked heat sink / fan (or a bad fan)
If it always happens at the some point in the boot up before you get the password prompt .. most likley it's s/w
Hit F8 during power up.. select 'last known good'
If that fails, F8 and select 'Safe Mode'
If you get into Safe Mode, uninstall whatever you last installed that is causing the lock up (most likley some hardware driver or some virus/root kit you got via email)
oh, sorry it started doing again!! In safe mode... :((
too got same problem it's not booting even in safe mode
