Look for a write protect swithc on the card, and if you do not find one, reformat the card, AFTER you have extracted all data from it.

The memory card may be too large. If it is over 2G the camera will not accept it. I know this because I have one of these cameras along with two worthless 4G cards. I switched to the 2G and it works. Format the 2G card on your computer before putting it in the camera.

Says memory card error and internal memory full. sometimes will recognize sd card but when picture is taken it either freezes camera or says no image/sound

It sounds like the camera is set to always save to the internal memory. With the SD card in place, adjust the settings to save to the SD card. (Sorry, I don't know the exact menu paths for your camera).
(If you have also copied your pictures off your camera, you can erase the internal memory and use that to take more pictures - however it will fill up again).

Why am I getting a "memory full" error when my memory card is not full?

Try formatting the card with the camera menu. This is always safer when you buy a new card. If that doesn't work take the card back

I have problem with my samsung digital camera always it shows a dcf full error on screen.

Thanks for using fixya!

The problem is from your SD card. First make sure you have copied all the pictures to your computer.

Then, FORMAT your SD card using your samsung camera. (Don't format it on your computer)

I hope this helped you!

When l take my SD card, it still says " DCF Full Error"

Hello and Welcome

The DCF error message with your Samsung camera nearly always occurs when you're using a memory card that was formatted with a different camera, and the file format structure is not compatible with your Samsung camera. You will have to format the card with the Samsung camera. However, make sure you download any photos to your computer first

Anymore help, I am here to help

DCF Full Error

DCF = Digital Camera Full

Usually, that just means you have taken a lot of pictures/videos and your memory card is full.
You should transfer them to a computer via USB or by taking the memory card out and putting it directly into a computer.
If you continue to have problems after emptying the memory card, you may have a faulty memory card.
If you suspect you have a faulty memory card, you might try a different one.
Always try to use a trusted memory card brand (I prefer Sandisk).

Good luck, I hope I was able to help

When i insert the xd card i get a message saying card error or card full even though the card is empty. any ideas on how to fix this or is time to replace it.

1) Try and clean the contacts on the card, soft dry cloth. I don't think you can get at the contacts in the camera, but you could give the card port a blast of compressed air if you got a can.

2) As the card is empty, try a re-format in the camera.

3) It could be you need a new card, a backup is always handy but if you can borrow one, try that first.

Sandisc camera sd card - capacity full error

Your camera menu should have an option to FORMAT the card. This will need to be done. If you deleted all files on the card by using a computer, the files may not be completely gone without having the camera reformat the card. It is always most efficient and safer to have the camera do the deleting rather than a computer.

'Card full' with no pix??

First make sure that the camera is able to recognise the card and is not defaulting to the internal memory only. Power off the Camera, then remove the additional card. Power on the camera, then power off the camera. Put the memory card back in the camera and then reformat it before using it. Fuji and other digital cameras do not like being used with memory expansions if they are not reformatted every time the pictures have filled the memory card or you choose to download them. Its like the memory is still allocated to something even though you cant see it. So a good practice is to reformat after every download. If the problem persists then try another card and if this still gives an error then you will have to get the camera serviced.
