Question about Motorola Mobility RAZR V3

1 Answer

Making and recieving calls

The was working fine during the day unitill when I attempted to make a call the message on the screen said "Call Failed:Not Allowed" When I attempted to call the hand set there was no response, no divert to voice mail. The SMS system still works though and the network said there was no bar on the account and no problems could be detected from there end. They instructed me to remove the SIM and battery for around 10 to 15 minutes or to manually select the network on the phone settings, neither worked.

Inserted sim from another phone used on same network. Razr reads all phone book info but when making a call I get a message, call failed: not subscribed. Phone will receive incoming calls.

It sounds like their account could be past due on payments. I worked for a cell phone company and this is typically the mesg you got when you were 10 days past due on your account. You can recieve calls, but cannot make them. The only solution I know of is to pay the account up to when it's due.

Unable to make and recieve calls

I flashed and flexed the set but to no avail, tried a software update but no update was available from motorola. I then went to the Security settings of the set and restricted all outgoing calls and restricted all incoming calls except the phonebook entries. Then I dialed my mobile using a landline which was on my phonebook and my phone started recieving the calls, then after that I allowed all incoming and outgoing calls. This solved the problem. I believe it is sheer luck because I tried that step earlier on the same day but it gave no result.

Failed call messages

switch your network over to another carrier for about a hour and then switch it back. sometimes just making the switch makes your phone connect better to your tower
