My pathfinder was running fine untill the other day. In 1st gear I stepped on the gas and there was a sudden jolt like a split second loss of power. This happened about a half dozen times within maybe 30 seconds or so and then it died. I got it home (1/4 mile away) and it would restart but idle really rough for about a minute or less and then die. The oil is good, the water is good. I have run the battery down all the way (left lights on) 4 or 5 times in the last year, but it still seems to be charging fine.

The sudden jolt when the brakes or turn signal is applied at 3rd gear or higher in a 2000 Ford Focus SE SOHC Split Port may indicate a problem with the drive shaft, suspension or transmission. It's recommended to have the vehicle inspected by a professional mechanic to diagnose and fix the issue.
i doubt its a sudden occurrence. Get the throttle body off and clean it with carb cleaner until its spotless. Check all breather pipes on manifold and intake side and make sure they are clean. Other possible cause is bad throttle position sensor.....
have the cooling system pressure tested to 20 psi remove the spark plugs & see if any water/coolant comes out of the spark plug holes. You may have a cracked cylinder head or partially blown head gasket.
Sounds like a good tune-up and add a cleaner to your gas to keep the injectors clean. It will also help you on fuel.Camaro's vibrate when they go through transitions between gears. You should feel a pull to your back when accelerating. As you stated,"Ride it out and it will "come back" For a while.."If you are talking once you get to top speed, ease off the throttle and the power will come back to you. Also, make sure you keep a fresh oil change.Camaro's are high performance vehicles, so they will burn oil quicker. Have a nice day James
I had the same issue that has evolved into the car starting and idling for 2-3 seconds then stalling. After doing this five times it won't turn over at all. All the dash lights are on but no turn over. After the car sits for appoximately 15-30 minutes, it starts and runs fine for 3-4 weeks then does it again. I was told this is due to the camshaft and crank position sensors needing replaced.
