There is no coaxial cable input for my Trutech TV. Is there any way to connect the coaxial cable cord from my wall to the TV through a device other than an RF modulator or a cable box?

SOURCE: hot to hook up cable

This monitor with a television tuner does not have a coaxial connection. I was able to get cable by connecting (buying if you don't have) to my dvd/vcr which had the coaxial connectors. Then I ran the video component cable (green, blue & red - had to buy that) from the tv to the dvd/vcr. Then I ran the audio cable (red & white) from the tv to the dvd/vcr. A little tricky figuring out where on the tv to actually connect but eventually got it. YUV2 on the side.

SOURCE: coaxial cable hook up

You have to buy a adaptor for coaxial to television antenna hook-up. One side is used to hook up the cable to and the other side is to hook up to you televisions antenna's screw hook-up. These adaptors can be bought in most electronic stores and you should be able to find them on line. Just use google for cable to television adaptors. I hope this helps you with your problem.

Trying to connect a digital antenna to my Sanyo tv. I plugged the cord from the antenna to the tv using the only input location labeled Ant. No signal, tried changing input but no luck.

an antenna has coaxial connection to go to your tv from the antenna... it looks like a barrel. If it is a powered antenna it will also have a cord to be connected to power in some way (usb, ac wall plug etc) that needs to be plugged in often as most those antennas do not pick up anything until you plug them in but that depends on location and a bunch of other stuff. good luck

Televison station won't scan

If you are receiving a "No Signal" error message, verify that:
  1. All of the cables physically connected to the TV and the input device are secure.
  2. The input device is turned on.
Your TV needs to scan for channels before it can show programming from an antenna, from cable TV when the cable comes directly from the wall (no cable box), or from a cable or satellite box connected to the TV with a coaxial (RF) cable. Do not scan for channels if you have a cable or satellite box connected using AV (Composite), Component, or HDMI cables. The box selects the channel, not the tuner inside your television. If you are not using the "TV" input, press the INPUT button on your remote until the correct input mode is selected.
To perform a channel scan using the coaxial input:
  1. Press the INPUT button on your remote to view your current input source. The TV (coaxial cable) input must be selected. This may appear as "TV," "ANT," or the channel and call letters of a station.
  2. If the TV input is not selected, press INPUT until the TV input mode is selected.
  3. Open the on-screen menu and select TV or Tuner option. (This varies by model.)
  4. Highlight Tuner Mode and select the correct option:
    • Antenna-over-the air signals from an antenna
    • Cable-direct from the wall cable TV, or a cable or satellite box connected to the TV with coaxial cable
  5. Select Auto Search or Auto Channel Scan. (This varies by model.)
  6. When the search reaches 100% complete, exit to the menu.
  7. Check the available channels:
    • Antenna or direct-from-wall cable-Press the Channel Up and Channel Down buttons on your VIZIO TV remote to view the available channels.
    • Cable or satellite box- Will return only one channel. Use the cable or satellite remote's Channel Up and Channel Down buttons.
If this does not resolve the issue, power cycle the TV and then re-run the channel scan:
  1. Turn off the TV.
  2. Unplug the TV from the electrical outlet.
  3. While the TV is unplugged from the wall, press and hold the Power button on the TV for 30 seconds.
  4. Release the power button.
  5. Plug the TV back into the electrical outlet.
  6. Turn on the TV.
Note: There is also an option to reset the TV to the factory default settings. This option is in either the SETUP or SYSTEM section of the on-screen menu. The option may be "Reset all settings", "System Reset," or "Reset & Admin." Consult your TV's user manual for the location and steps for resetting your model.
  1. Remove the coaxial cable from the DTV/TV connector on the back of your television and perform a channel scan to clear the existing channels. See the procedure above. This should not find any channels.
  2. Re-attach the coaxial cable to the DTV/TV connector and perform a new channel scan.
This video shows troubleshooting steps to use when a "No signal" message appears.

How to connect a philips antenna to a trutech tv

Unplug your television and turn the set around so the back of the set is facing you.

  • 2 Disconnect the antenna or cable connection from the television's "VHF," "Antenna In" or similarly worded port if it is connected.
  • 3 Examine your splitter and notice one end of the device has a coaxial port while the other end has two coaxial ports.
  • 4 Plug the coaxial end of the television antenna into one of the two coaxial ports on the splitter.
  • 5 Plug the coaxial cable coming from the cable television connection outlet into the second coaxial port on the splitter. Use the port next to the one you used to plug the television antenna into.
  • 6 Place one end of a 2 foot piece of coaxial cable into the single coaxial port on the splitter.
  • 7 Plug the other end of the 2 foot piece of coaxial cable into your television's "VHF," "Antenna In" or similarly worded port.
  • 8 Plug in the television set and turn it around so the screen is facing you.
  • 9 Use your television's remote control to access the "Menu," "Setup" or similarly worded function. Or press the "Menu" or "Setup" button on the front of the television.
  • 10 Select the "Channel Setup" or similarly worded function. Set the Input to "Cable" and perform an "Auto Scan" to locate all available cable television channels.
  • 11 Select the "Channel Setup" or similarly worded function, then set the input to "Antenna" and perform an "Auto Scan" to locate all available broadcast channels. Your television will locate both broadcast and cable television channels.
  • 12 Scan the channels on your television to make sure all available channels have been found. If you are missing any channels that you know you should have, manually program the channels into your television using the "Channel Setup," "Manual Channel Setup" or similarly worded function.

How do you get the picture in picture to work? What two sources can you use, a cable box and what?

The Picture in Picture (PIP) on VIZIO televisions works on multiple input sources. This means you have to have signal or a device connected to more than one input on the television and have both inputs selected to display the information going to them. Here is an example. Let's say you have an HD cable box connected to your television and you would like to have more than one channel displayed on the screen in order to keep an eye on both football games at the same time. With one device connected that's not going to work out the way our TV functions. What you want to do is get a coaxial splitter and two extra coaxial cables; these can be found anywhere home theater equipment is sold. Then follow these steps.

    1. Turn off both your cable box and television.

    2. Take the coaxial cable that comes OUT from the wall and connects to the IN of your cable box and disconnect it.

    3. Connect that cable to the IN on your coaxial splitter.

    4. Connect your two extra coaxial cables to the OUTs on your coaxial splitter. We will call them cable 1 and Cable 2, just because.

    5. Connect cable 1 directly to the DTV/TV input on your television.

    6. Connect Cable 2 directly to the IN on your cable box, this will be the same connection you removed it from in step #2. Your HD cable box should still be connected to your television with either an HDMI cable or Component cables (Identified by their Green, Red, Blue colors for video and Red and White cables for audio.)

    7. Power on both the cable box and your television. Using the INPUT button on your VIZIO remote select the input connection where your cable box is located your cable box picture should come up on the Main screen.

    8. Press the PIP button on your VIZIO remote to bring up the small box in the corner. Press the PIP input button until you select the TV input and you should be ready to go. You may need to perform a channel scan with your TV tuner to locate all available channels before you do this step. In order to understand better how to perform a channel scan please check under the F.A.Q.s in the discussion area of your particular model television.

In order to change channels in the small screen use the PIP CH - and + buttons located near the bottom of the remote. You can swap picture in the Main and Sub screens using the swap button and swap which screen will sound off its audio by using the AUDIO button. You might notice an X next to some of the selections in the INPUT and PIP INPUT screens when you have PIP activated. That means that input selection is unavailable and cannot be used. For example, if you have the input TV selected on your main screen then if you press the PIP INPUT button and bring up that input menu you will see X's next to the TV and AV selections. The X's mean that when you have TV on the main screen you won't be able to use TV or AV on the small screen. Instead you would need to use any of the input selections that do not have an X attached to them.

2004 jvc 56in projection tv, has sound but no picture

    Hello

Change the channel to ensure the problem isn't with the current station broadcast. Check the channel at a later time to see if the broadcast problem is resolved.

The type of programming you are trying to watch determines the proper input source. Press the "Input" button on the remote control to change to the proper input source. For example, if the source is a cable or satellite service, press the "Input" button until "TV" mode is selected. A component device, such as a DVD player, will operate on a different input source, such as "Video-1."

Check the coaxial cable, which connects your television broadcast service provider to your television. You need to securely connect the coaxial cable to the "ATSC/Digital Cable In" jack on the back of the television, and the other end to the wall jack. If the cable appears damaged, replace it with a new cable.

If you are using a component device as the source of your programming, ensure the component cables are plugged into the "Video Input" and "Audio Input" jacks on the back of the television or that the S-Video cable is plugged into the "S-Video Input" jack on the back of the television. Connect the other end of the cables to the "Video Output" and "Audio Output" jacks or "S-Video Output" jack on the component device.

Need directions to install a dch70 box to tv

    dear woolifer ,
I am not an expert but i hope i can help you..
    is it youmean digital cablebox?
    if it is try this-

This is a problem a lot of people have with coaxial-only televisions because DVD players do not have coaxial (RF) outputs, which means they can't be connected directly into a television with only a coaxial (RF) input. The solution is to purchase a RF modulator, which is a small device that will convert the AV output from the DVD player to coaxial (RF).
As for the instructions, I am going to assume the DVD player is not a combo unit with the VCR, and that you want to record TV on your VCR. Step 4 will include connecting your DVD player, but if the DVD player is a combo unit with the VCR, just ignore step 4 part as DVD connection will be included in the VCR set up. Actually, you wouldn't need the RF modulator if it is a VCD/DVD combo unit.
    1. Connect the coaxial cable coming out from the wall to your digital cable box in the ‘video in’ slot. It might also be labeled ‘antenna in’ or ‘cable in’.
    2. From the cable box, connect a coaxial or composite (yellow video cable) and stereo (red-white) RCA audio cables to the VIDEO IN terminal on your VCR.
    3. From the VCR, you will have to connect this to the RF Modulator using a coaxial cable from the VIDEO OUT on the VCR to one of the IN ports on your RF modulator.
    4. You can now connect your DVD player to the RF Modulator by using the yellow-red-white composite/RCA cables from the VIDEO OUT on the DVD player to another port on the RF modulator.
    5. From the RF modulator, connect this unit to your TV by using a coaxial cable. It will be from the VIDEO OUT on the RF modulator to the VIDEO IN or CABLE or ANTENNA IN port on your television.
This should be all you need to get started watching your digital television. In simple terms here is what you did:
Coaxial from wall to cable box
    Cable box to VCR
    VCR to RF modulator
    DVD player to RF Modulator
    RF modulator to TV
You will only be able to record what is on channel
