Hello

Disable firewall settings to check if it doesn't block connection.

1) Update the WLan driver. In most cases this solves connections issues.
http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/

2) Go to device manger -> WLan card -> Properties -> Advanced tab and check if the WLan modus 802.11 B/G or N has been set to the same Wlan modules supported by router!

3) Disable the WLan encryption and password on the router and check if you could connect to the router without any security settings. Do this only for testing purposes. If it connects properly, enable the encryption password and try again.

4) Disable WLan power saving! This can be done in Win Power Management. If that doesn't work, perform a system restore, set your computer to how it was the last time you were on the internet.

Your problem may appear from a not properly enabled WLAN card.
Make sure the Wi-Fi swithc is in ON position and on your laptop keyboard try the FN+F8 combination to have displayed the wireless card status. The WLAN card has to be ENABLED to be able to connect to the Internet. The combination done will make appear on your display a window with some options available; choose that option that enables your wireless card.
Also check in your computer's DEVICE MANAGER if your WLAN card is working properly. To do so follow these simple steps:
1. START and click on SYSTEM;
2. in SYSTEM option click on DEVICE MANAGER;
3. on DEVICE MANAGER option go at NETWORK ADAPTERS and see if there your wireless card is indicated and it shows that it is working PROPERLY;
4. if an UNKNOWN DEVICE is indicated then try to find the right driver for you notebook model and WLAN card model;
5. install the driver then REBOOT and recheck in DEVICE MANAGER if your WLAN card is displayed properly this time.

Wireless card in E1505 Dell not finding networks in range

The 1390 WLAN Minicard may not be configured to communicate with your wireless router.
Check the wireless router settings, (check the wireless settings on your other computer) and configure the 1390 WLAN with the same settings eg. SSID, WEP/WAP encryption, etc.
Is MAC address filtering enabled on your wireless router, if so add the MAC address of the 1390 WLAN to the MAC address list in the wireless router.

Check the TCP/IP properties of the 1390 WLAN card the Internet protocol should not have a fixed IP address, set it to Obtain an IP address automatically including the DNS.

Use the Ipconfig command to see the IP configuration of the network cards.

Use the Ping command to see if you can communicate with wireless router.

Wlan W200 connection problem

There is a solution to this, and you won't have to buy a new card. The folks at HP, however smart in their design of this laptop, have not properly updated the bug fix for the wlan w200 drivers. What you'll need to do is actually take back your network adapter driver all the way back to Version 1.0 revision C. I did this with an n610c that I got for free because it was BSOD'ing every time the wireless was turned on. For the most part the wireless can handle older routers and wlan areas, but will BSOD when within range of a wireless "N" adapter. Simply download the driver version 1.0c and you should have no more issues.

Tip: You can disable the card manually by pressing your "Fn + F2" keys, rather than trying to navigate your menus before getting the BSOD.
