My HP C6100 All in one says it was improperly shut down. No it only cycles through a shut off and won't do anything.

To do a reset

1. Remove all the inks
2. Press and hold both the OK and CANCEL buttons
3. Whilst holding them remove the power cable from the back of the printer
4. Whilst still holding them - push the power cable back in.
5. Continue to hold the buttons for 10 seconds then let go.
6. Wait - it may reboot several times.
7. Go through the setup again and put the inks back

Never used HP c6100 keeps cycling. Starts as soon as it is plugged in without touching the power button.

Hi,
Try unplugging all the cables from the printer(power and data cables).
Press and hold the power button for 10sec(it will do nothing since its not plugged in. We are trying to remove the static electricity from the machince, if there is any).
Repeat the same process once more.

Now plug back all the needed cables and check.

HP C6100 Printer caught in on off cycle

i had this happen once a long time ago, try these options below...
turn printer on/off, unplug,wait a minute plug in2_bing.gif, should reset configs.

go to applications folder for your computer, dbl click printer icon for make of printer. check settings. print 'test document and clean cartridge heads', this should ensure proper printing formats.

lastly, go to web site of printer model and check site for trouble shooting if this does not work above. hp has an AWESOME web site for trouble shooting

Reset the printer by following steps
1. Unplug the power cable from printer when the printer is powered on and wait for 20 seconds.

2. Then, press and hold # and 6 while plugging in the power cord.

Continue holding until it displays Semi Full Reset message in the front panel of the All-in-One.

Just purchased an HP Photosmart Premium want to turnoff ringer

To turn the ringer off - press Setup button and scroll down to Basic Fax Setup and press Select. Then scroll down to Fax Sound Volume and then scroll down to Off and press Select.

"Improper Shutdown" - Printer keeps turning on and off.

Got the same problem following a message "Printer ink failure" code 0xc19a0035. Instructions say to shut down using button on/off. But printer refused to shutdown. After 30 minutes, I disconnected power cable. Removed cartridges. Reloaded cartridges. Reconnected power cable and got "Improper shutdown" message with continuous cycle. Solution: 1. While the printer is still turned on, unplug all cables and cords at the back of the printer.
2. Unplug the power cord also from the wall outlet...
3. Wait for two minutes.
4. Reconnect power cord to the wall outlet first.
5. Press and hold the pound (#) and six (6) buttons.
6. While holding down the two buttons, reconnect the power cord to the back of the printer and after two seconds, release pound and six buttons.
7. Turn on the printer if it turns off... and it's fixed.
8. Be patient to let printer run its tests.
