When I turn the TV on, sometimes it stays on for hours on end. Other times it will only stay on for a half a second, or even a few seconds then blow out and turn off. It used to just blow out once in a while (maybe every few weeks), now after a day, I have to spend lots of time trying to get it to stay on. Unplugging it, then plugging it back in, turning it on, it blows out, then I turn it back on and it blows right back out, then it stays on for a few hours and blows out... then I can have it on for 24 hours straight, and the next time I go to turn it on, it blows out... PLEASE HELP!!! thank you! i want to be able to play my video games and watch tv! Thank you! Emily

The blinking light signifies to a repair technician with capacitors or circuits are having an issue they can diagnose the problem via the amount of blinks in between pauses however it will require a technician and some specific tools and schematics to fix and it may be cheaper if its no longer under warranty to purchase a new one

Hope this helped

My 42LD450 won't stay on! It turns on for a few seconds and works fine, then the screen flashes then comes back on, then flashes again after a couple seconds, then turns off. Rinse and repeat. Tried...

I hope that you can use the warrantee.

Otherwize, it must be possible to repair it with a fried comfortable with electronic because the problem is not permanent. This kind of problem is usually an old capacitor or a bad connection (soldering).
It would be important to check if changing the ambiant temperature fixes the problem. (I.E. move it to the seller for 2h and try..)

Turns itself on and off every few seconds. The blue light at the front of the TV stays on steadily during this process. Tried unplugging it but made no difference.

When you unplugged it, did you leave unplugged for quite a few hours? And in the meantime of being unplugged, did you press and hold the power button for 5 full seconds, and then wait half hour more to plug back in? If you did this and it still is the same, then you likely have either a loose wire or solder joint or your high-voltage transformer is likely bad.

Top half of screen blacks out

Today, after speaking to the Sansui Manufacturer representative from Japan. He stated that all you need to do is to turn off the closed caption from the TV remote and not the DVR remote. Black screen can occur at the top half or the bottom half of the screen depending on how it was originally setup during installation. Try this and hopefully this fixes the problem.

TV screen turns off, green light stays on

As posted for a similar problem:

This is an issue with IC 803 on the Z board. This is a 3.3 V regulator that supplies this voltage to the slot card cage. Most input boards use this voltage EXCEPT the component board which is why it keeps playing along whike the DVI, HDMI, or composite signals will cut out after warm-up.

This is a surface mount multi-pin IC and is a bit tricky to replace.
The entire board is PN# TNPA3198xx with suffix determined by what model 7 series plasma you have.

This was a problem from around Nov. 2004 to Mar. 2005
