Your keyboard is bad - the Toshiba Accupoint mouse portion of it, at least - just replace the entire keyboard. Access is easy: remove the thin plastic cover strip above the keyboard, then two screws that hold the keyboard down, lift it up slightly, and disconnect the keyboard connector. eBay is the best source for these parts, and replacements should cost no more than $20 delivered.

Toshiba satellite cursor frozen to one spot how do I :unlock/unfreeze the cursor (happened after cat walked across the keyboard

The touch screen don't work ? Do you use an external mouse ? Did you replace the external mouse if you have one?
1st gingerly, and softly pass your hand across the entire keyboard from left to right, then right to left touching ALL keys [[ ALL]] . go up and down the keyboard .
2nd take the eraser of the pencil and gently TAP all keys to UNstick any key that could be shorted out. If that don't work, get back to me so that I can show you how to use a WORD PROCESSOR to find your problem.

Unlock cursor

If your cursor is locking up, first make sure you are using the correct pointer device driver. if you are, then you need to run a utility to scan the drive for errors.

Cursor moves but when i tap it nothing happens?

Down on your task bar on the right there is a little screen that shows a green circle when you move your cursor. This is the Synaptics Pointing Device. Place your cursor over that and click your left 'mouse' button (just below where you tap). You will see 'tap to click'. If you click on that it will change it to your 'tap' function. That should solve your problem, hopefully. Hope this helps.
