How to wipe iPhone cleanly

"Erase all content" means all of YOUR content, including all applications you have downloaded and all the data for those applications and all the data for Apple applications (i.e. Mail, Photos, Calendar, Safari, etc.) will not be completely removed from the device, they still remain on your iPhone and can be easily recovered by some iPhone data recovery.

I highly recommend you to try Safewiper iPhone data eraser app to complete your iPhone data, it will be the best choice when you need to sell your old iPhone or iPad.

My Apple Iphone wont turn on. What to do when Iphone is freezing.

Hi.

What do I do if my Iphone does not start up anymore?

f711bdb.jpg

Here basic troubleshooting:

1 Try turning Iphone off, then back on. Turn it off by holding down the Sleep/Wakebutton until you see the red slider on display, then slide the finger across theslider. To turn iPhone back on, hold down theSleep/Wake button until the you see Apple logo on display.

2 Try pressing and holding the Home button for about ten seconds. This will close a frozen application or a stuck process. After this restart the iPhone following thesteps on point one.

3 If the above did not work, try doing a reset. Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Homebutton at the same time for about 10 seconds. You may see ared "power off" slider appearing on screen, then you see the display going black. Donot release Sleep/Wake and Home buttons until you see the Apple logo appearing on display. See picture below:

4 Reset all settings: Tap Settings>General>Reset> Reset All Settings. This will reset all settings to factory default. Data and media files will not be affected.

5 If that does not fix the problem, then try deleting all content and settings.
Tap Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Contents and Settings
This will delete all media and data. All settings will also be reset to default value.

6 Try restoring iPhone using the latest version of iTunes.
Connect iPhone to the computer using the data cable. When you see the IPhone in the Source list, click on Restore in the Summary tab.

e99506a.jpg

If that did not work, repeat steps from 4 to 6 once more. If Iphone is still frozen, unplug it from pc, and try restarting the Iphone. Also reinstall Itunes and connect Iphone to pc again.

Ifrepeating the steps 4 to 6 did not fix your problem , then the Iphone isfaulty. In that case take it to a local Apple repair shop, or call Apple servicephone number listed on the user guide to arrange repair.

If the Iphone is faulty, sometimes reinstalling Firmware can fix it, but that, that is a risky procedure that will invalidate your warranty and damage the IPhone beyond repair. Better calling Apple before bricking the Iphone.
For this reason I will only post links on the argument.

On firmware update see:

My iphone went dead. I hung up from a call and then went to use it again - dead. Plugged in for 1/2 hour and still no juice. Is there a reset button?

Charge your iPhone overnight. If that does not work, try the following resets:

If iPhone won't turn on, or the display freezes or doesn't respond

  1. Press and hold the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the application you were using quits.
  2. If that doesn't work, turn iPhone off and turn it on again. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on top of iPhone for 10 seconds until a red slider appears, and then slide the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
  3. If that doesn't work, reset iPhone. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
  4. More resets:

Try This:
1. Remove Sim Card
2. Hold in 'Home' button and 'On/Off' button together until Apple logo appears
3. Replace Sim Card
4. Hold in 'Home' button and 'On/Off' button together until normal phone screen appears.

Also, Try this:
1.) Shut down the iPhone 3G.
2.) Start up iTunes
3.) Hold down HOME button on the iPhone 3G
4.) While keeping the HOME button depressed, plug in the Sync cable
5.) A message will pop up to ask if you want to reset.
6.) Just click YES and the reset process should start.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response

Thanks, Joe

Turn iphone off. Power on holding power and home at same time for 10 seconds, then release power button but hold home for another 30 seconds. Screen will stay blank but should be in DFU recovery mode. Plug into iTunes and recover.

I want to reboot my ipod touch apple

Just re-boot or restore?
Reset is more about hard reset, for those familiar with terms associated with PDA, Palm or Windows Mobile. In other word, reset is simply a forced reboot
  • power is cut off from iPhone or iPod Touch to restart the device from fresh.
Restore will erase and wipe out completely all information and data that contained inside the device, including musics, songs, videos, contacts, photos, calendar information, call lists, maps, applications installed and any other data.
  • To reset the iPhone or iPod Touch, press and hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button simultaneously at the same time for at least ten seconds, then the LCD display will clear and the Apple logo appears on the black background. When Apple logo appears, reset is done.
