Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. If the fans are working and the lamp is fine then the issue is with the ballast going bad. Ballast is the power supply source for the lamp, when you turn the unit on checkif you hear crackling or see a spark from the ballast as you have the back off then it means ballast(which is the power supply source of the lamp) is good, if not then you’ll have to replace the ballast. You can also test the wire that runs from the ballast to the power supply and check if it reads around 300vdc...if it does then you need Ballast. If it’s good then it’s the DMD Board that should be replaced. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

61 inch projection tv flashing on and off

The most common problem with JVC LCD rear projection TV is bulb failure. Do not panic, this is normal after 2-5 years of use.

You can change the complete assembly or for less cost just change the bulb. Do not use Osram or other funny brand "rebuilt" or locally made bulb. Use a Philips replacement and all should be good.

Changing the bulb involves removing the lamp assembly and taking it apart like a puzzle and replacing the bulb. JVC are a little more difficult to do than most others because the wires on the original bulb are molded into the glass on the original bulb. Wires must be cut and stripped of insulation before connecting to the new bulb.

All JVC LCD Rear projections TVs use TSCL110 TSCL110U TS-CL110U Lamps.

Check this out for all JVC models to identify the lamp and bulb. JVC Gallery.
