Toshiba 37C3030D 37 in. LCD Television Logo
Anonymous Posted on Aug 16, 2010

Hi Since last week I'm having problems with my Toshiba Regza 37" X3030DG TV. I cannot see any DTV channel. When I select any channel I'm getting always a black screen. TV seems to be "refreshing" all the time; for example, if I turn off sound, the "no sound" message appears/disappears continually (left-down corner of the screen). I believe that due to this, I'm not able to access also to any TV menu. Just clicking on Menu button, and maybe 1 or 2 seconds later, the Menu window disappears, avoiding me to select anything (I'd like to try an authomatic channel detection but, as far as now, this is not possible!). What could be the reason for this strange behaviour? Is there a nice "reset" button? ;P I'd appreciate any help. Kind Regards, Björn.

    Hi All,

First, thanks for your quick help.

I haven't had the chance to check your proposed solutions. When I arrived at home yesterday, my Toshiba worked smoothly again, and power cord wasn't unplugged! ? Maybe semiconductor reseted and reloaded all alone...

Reset is removing power cord from the wall plug. Without electricity for five minutes will reset the semicinductor memory and reload with the correct firmware when you turn on again. This is due to glitches on the power line, some people may use powerline filters to avoid any future problems..

Toshiba regza 37" reset defaults

Unplug the TV for some time (usually 1hr is plenty) and it should reset to factory settings.

How do i tune it?

If by tune, you mean program channels;
Press the menu button on the remote and select the Setup option.
Go to Installation, Terrestrial, Channel program, start.
This will automatically add all the channels to your television that you are able to recieve.

Bought a Toshiba Regza 37rv635d last week.

I have had the same problem today. I think it might be to do with the master power button on the side, as it seems loose on my tv. Did you ever solve the problem on yours?

When i turn my toshiba regza on I cannot access DTV all I get is a black screen. when i press the menu setup button this comes on for about a second then goes off again to a black screen. I can still use...

Try either the "content / menu" button between the volume and programme buttons. Failing that, when the tv has been powered up from the wall socket wait untill you hear a small click from the t.v (usually about 5 or so seconds after it has been switched on) before switching it on from the remote control, have no idea why this works but the dtv has worked for me ever since I powered the tv up like that

Trouble tuning in empty dtv channels

Just go to the main settings. You will see an "autoprogram" option. Select this and it will scan all available channels and delete non-airing channels

Cant get dtv on my toshiba regza

Does it work with a DVD or VCR?
How is it connected? With a Coax cable or a an RCA component cable? Check that the correct video source is selected (The one associated with the input you are connected with) or that you are tuned to the correct channel on the TV if you are using the coaxial cable to connect. Could be channel 3 or 4 but I have seen them set for channels like 73.

Weird lines on Toshiba REGZA

its in warranty ship it, the problem is actually not common but it is a problem it is related to the processor on the main board, and um don't trust salesmen to tell you about repair issues. They really don't have a clue. if you need a tv for to weeks then rent one for two weeks they are not that expensive to rent
