This kind of problem occurs if camera dropped on floor that broke lens mechanism OR lens mechanism got dust particles that make it stuck. Usually lens mechanism needs to be replaced to solve the issue, however, user level try to solve the problem is to tap camera on your palm a few time gently that may release stuck lens mechanism and it start working again, if that does not help then lens assembly will be replaced. Thanks.
If the battery is fully charged, and you are able to turn on the camera but only the lens wont come out, then try doing this:
1. Hold the camera from your right hand with the lens facing down. 2. Hit the base of the camera to your left palm as you press the ON button to turn on the camera. Do this a couple of times until the lens comes out.
Chances are, your camera's lens is stuck inside because of some granule of sand or dirt stuck on the sides of the lens inside. Goodluck!
Replace the camera lens. Or take the camera apart, rebuild and clean the lens, then reinstall the camera lens into your camera. Rebuilding is not as fun as it sounds.
Hey Joy_2008, A lens error usually means something is obstructing the movement of the lens (i.e. sand). You could try blowing compressed air into the side of the lens to try and dislodge whatever is stuck in the lens. You could also try placing the camera on a flat surface with the lens pointed up. While holding the shutter button in turn on the camera. What this sometimes does is force the lens to move before the camera shuts down, and when the lens moves hopefully it will dislodge whatever is stuck. If none of this works I would have the camera looked at by an authorized service technician. I hope this helps! Sincerely, Allan Go Ahead. Use Us.
I just wrote a warning about these "telescoping lens" cameras, You need to get the lens back on track. maybe steady pressure, applied to the back of the camera with the lens on a towel on a table to ensure it remains parallel to the camera body.
the lens cover gets stuck sometimes. It just needs a gentle touch and it opens up. Only happened once to me. In my case it happened after my daughter held onto the camera with her finger on the lens cover.
