XeroxWorkCentre PE120 Problem

I have a problem with my XeroxWorkCentre pe 120. The problem consist in the following simtomes:
-the printer,scaner, fax is working fine until one moment,i guess that moment is the time that the printer enters in standby, when that happens, i need to restart the printer, sometimes reinstal the drivers on the PC, this is verry annoying, everytime i need to print something i have to reset the printer,that takes like 2-3 minutes, and after that reinstal the printer that takes like 2 minutes, and after that finaly to print 1 or 2 pages...(that takes 5 minutes, im better of finding a friend with a printer that work fine)

Some thoughts.

Envelopes won't print from bypass tray. Cause:
Extended tray is not set up properly for envelopes. Solution: thumbsup.gif Fixed! thumbsdn.gif Did not fix. Enter tools "Login" 1,1,1,1,1 Touch buttons with the following names in that order: System Settings System Settings Common Settings Other Settings Scroll down to "Extended Tray" Next to "Extended Tray" it may say "Inverter" if it does go to change settings then change it to "Offset Stacking" Close out tools.

That very much sounds like a driver problem.
One thing you may try first is when you get to the download page for the drivers.Select ALL on the driver page. Normally you get one selection to show up when you just click on the driver page. When you click ALL then Go and you will see more options.
There is not a Vista driver for that product if that is your operating system.
Maybe just delete the printer and re install. Something is wrong with your driver, corrupted or just not functioning correctly.
I do not have my laptop with me right now, I left it at the office with my other documentation on it.
I will look up more in the morning for you.
But this very much strikes me as a corrupt driver problem.

What driver did you download? The PS driver is much less capable and I am wondering if thats what you downloaded.
I am using the PCL driver and the selections are 1 sided, 2 sided long edge , 2 sided short edge.
Unless you are runnung CAD, you really should be running a PCL driver.
Maybe I am misunderstand what you are telling me also.
If you have the PCL driver and thats still a problem let me know and I will forward all I can find.

Change the paper size in the program you are printing from and delete all paper size changes later than the beginning of the document.

Change it on your default printer and anywhere else you can.

Usually it is asking for different size of paper and will display this on the lcd

Someone installed the "Printing Scout" on this computer. You may need to uninstall or check all the settings in the printer driver. I'm not really familiar with Macs but I know the 8560 inside out, upside down, and backwards.

The 3 beeps, known as temporal pulse, is indicative of an alarm condition. If it stops without a battery, then the unit either does not have power or is otherwise defective.

Most likely the sensor has come out of its mounting.
Most likely just carefully disassemble the the feeder and find the loose sensor, Remove the back and left side cover, follow the wires to the circuit board, Unplug them then lift the feeder up and out of the machine. Place it on a table and you will get to it, It really is not a hard feeder to take apart and put back together.

Error code PCL6 incomplete session by time out

That is normally caused by firmware corruption. You can go to Xerox.com, click on support and drivers, then in the search box enter pe120, then go to drivers and downloads and download the newest machine firmware . There are directions on how to install the firmware , make sure you follow them step by step. It's pretty easy and should resolve your problem.

Workcentre pe 120i memory full

in spec. say's so:
your workcentre Pe120 have only 32 Mb memory.
fax function is equipped with a 4 Mb standard memory.
In spec. shows a 4mb memory is just enough for 320 pages of fax!!!

i think your problem is given from the 32 mb of memory of workcentre pe120, not from fax memory, because the faxes received or delayed is compressed with a very strong altgorithm, and these files is very small.

Brother MFC-420CN Scaner

As far as the scanner, you will have to have someone repair it or replace the printer. The manuals that can be obtained online do not have the technical information that would be needed to be able to repair that detailed of a situation. Sorry. If your printer is still under warranty, then go to www.brother-usa.com and follow the links there to obtain service.
