Most likely your vent line is plugged up with lint and dust, make sure the outside vent is clear and if the vent line is long blow it out with a leaf blower and check the duct that the lint filter slides into,if that's not it call the factory if it's only 3 weeks old,let me know what you find

Kenmore Gas Dryer Model 72841: seems to be overheating. Even on low setting, clothes can be *very* hot to the touch if checked before cooldown part of cycle. Is this normal, or is there a problem?

Hello,

No its abnormal the maximum operating temp is 155 degrees, the first thing to check is the vent for obstructions, espically outside since most houses have a covering over the vent that builds up with lint and blocks airflow, if the vent if fine ALL THE WAY from dryer to outdoors the thermister is defective

I have a front load Kenmore dryer HE2 that seems to be getting very hot...only in the inside. You can really feel it more than normal when you open up the door

Your exhaust is plugged. Start your dryer go outside to the vent and feel for air coming out. If no air or just a little is coming out, check your exhaust tubing. Make sure you check the outside vent.

My kenmore elite dryer is only 1 year old and does not seem to get hot and takes long time to dry clothes

It normally takes about 45 minutes for a dryer to dry a full load. If your dryer is taking more than an hour, check these.
Frequently there's an obstruction in the vent duct from the dryer to the outside of the house. For the dryer to heat properly, the duct must be clean and clear of lint or any other substance.
Your dryer has some internal ductwork. If it gets clogged, your dryer can't dry properly. In most dryers, to get to the internal ductwork to clear the clog, you have to substantially disassemble the dryer. A quick way to check for internal clogs is to remove the lint filter and use a flashlight to inspect the inside of the duct. If it looks clogged and you can't clear it using your vacuum, contact a qualified appliance repair technician.
our dryer's heating element may be partially burned out. If it is, your dryer still heats, but at such a low temperature that it takes three or four times as long to dry the clothes. If the element is partially burned out, replace it.

IT JUST SAYS THAT IT IS A HEAVY DUTY, IT IS PRETTY OLD. IT WILL NOT HEAT, IT SEEMED TO GET REAL HOT ON THE 1ST LOAD THEN NOTHING ON THE SECOND LOAD

Most dryers have a thermal fuse, which burns out when the dryer overheats, in which case the dryer will either not run at all or stop heating. The fuse is usually located on the vent duct, inside the dryer. A blown fuse will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Before replacing the fuse, make sure the blower wheel is not broken or clogged, and there is nothing blocking the venting.

Dryer does not get hot enough to dry clothes Roper REX4634KQ1 Electric Dryer

Most common cause of this is a clogged venting going to the outside to test this remove the vent from the back of the dryer and run a load if it drys ok them you know you have a venting issue and will need to be cleaned out if not plz repost and we can look deeper into it

Kenmore All in One?Dryer Heat Minimal?Excessive Dry time

be sure vent to outside is not plugged or partially block be sure vet tube in back is not compressed flat or folded basically be sure you have good air flow to outside to take the moisture to the outside away from the clothes

Kenmore dryer

Probably too late to help either of you since this is so old but there are two possibilities (assuming everything else works as normal).

1st
If you really mean the circuit breaker to your house, then the heating element is bad and pulling too many amps. It may be shorting out when it gets hot due to the expansion of metal.

2nd
If you mean a switch on (or in) the dryer then you mean a thermal breaker (or thermal fuse). The most likely problem is that the exhaust vent for the dryer is plugged up with lint either within the dryer itself or in the part that is in your wall and exits someplace outside (could be as far as the roof). When the hot air can't escape the dryer overheats and shuts off to prevent a fire.
