Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out.

Clean your dryer vents, and lint filters. You may need to clean vent from wall to outside. to test this.. unhook vent pipe from wall..and run dryer and see what happens. or you have a defective heat coil

easy solution, your vent exhaust is clogged, the heat and water extracting from clothes is staying inside your vent

might need a clean out keeping heat inside of dryer,or you have abad motor,take the vent line off the back of dryer and run it to see if the block is in the vent line or in the dryer,also take off bottom panel,unplug dryer,take out lint filter and then remove the duct that the filter slides into,if it's blocked clean it out and you should be all set,usually the thermal fuse pops when this happens so that's why i say you could have a bad motor

You didn't mention if the dryer is getting hot.


If is getting hot, then shutting off, I agree with you.

If it is NOT getting hot, I would suspect the IGNITER ASSY

ensure the lint screen is clean, check your discharge vent hose for blockage or kinks. You may need to move the dryer out from the wall to thoroughly inspect the vent hose. while the vent hose is removed from the dryer, start the dryer momentarily to ensure the is sufficient air flow exiting the unit.

THE PROBLEM IS YOUR WALL VENT CLOGGED OR THE BACK OF THE DRYER VENT HOLE IS CLOGGED,IT KEEPS THE MOIST HOT AIR IN THE DRYER SO YOUR CLOTHS TAKE FOREVER TO DRY,THEY MUST BE CLEARED FOR THE DRYER TO WORK AGAIN-MIKE

My he3 dryer does not have a door lock. The door switch turns off the light and allows the dryer to start. Make sure this switch is not damaged. Unplug the dryer before removing the front cover.

My guess is that the belt is going bad. It could also be a bad bearing...the noise is generally metallic. Also...a bad belt tensioner comes to mind.
