Hi troymass this Mike Houston of DISH Network. The one thing we want to do is a hard reset by pulling out the receiver power cord for 10 seconds and plugging it back in. the receiver will power back on its own and reacquire to get the strongest signal. If the problem still persists you can run a check switch test MENU-6-1-1 and select Check Switch and then TEST. Once test is completed exit out of all menus.

There is no picture on tv

1.is the tv plugged in & getting electric?
2. Does the tv show a raster,a blue screen.
3.is the tv getting an input signal , assuming that the answer to 1 &2 was yes.
4. Is your cable box plugged in.
5. are all the connections into your cable box connected
or did one fall of
6. did you pay your cable bill on time.
If your cable box is bad , the cable company should fix or replace it for free. If you or someone else unhooked the connections, say by tripping over them, the cable company will restore the connections and chatge you a service call fee.
7. do you have dish or direct tv? either of those services will loose picture if it is raining out and picture wont come back until after the storm passes.
8. if you have dish or direct tv, and a branch,a person or an animal, a bird, has fallen on the dish/direct tv antenna, it may have misalligned the dish and it will no longer recieve the satalite signal. THere is a reallignment service
available;dish network charges $95.00 unelse you have insurance, like i do,so it only cost me $15.00 I never had direct tv soi could not say, but dish net claims direct tv is more expensive

You can allign the antenna yourself ,if it is not on a steep roof. You need one person moving the antenna & another person at the tv telling him if the picture is getting better or worse. The dish box comes with a built in signal strength gague for that purpose.

enjoy considering these options and they next time you ask
please enclose all the information that you can so that we have something to go on and work with.

VIP 211k stuck on channel 96

mport68,

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble, but would be happy to provide assistance on this. Try pressing 0 on the remote to exit out of the application. Are you able to move around on the screen, or is it giving no function at all?

How to program remote to dish? 4.4 IR/UHF PRO

Your question is not clear as to whether you want to program the remote to your TV or the DISH receiver. Here are steps for both if this has not been resolved already!

DISH RECEIVER::
1. Go to the room where the receiver is located. With the remote for THAT room press menu twice. (This will be the remote with the Green 1 on the bottom.)
2. Press and release the SAT button on the top left of the remote
3. Press and release the black and red record button 3 times
4. Look that the number next to remote address (secondary Remote address) has changed.
5. If not, start again.

TV::
1. Hold down the Clear TV button until all lights at the top of the remote light up
2. Press the red TV POWER button
3. Press and release the up arrow on the remote about once a second until the tv turns off.
4. When it turns off, press the # (Pound) button
5. Try powering the tv on/off, and try the volume. If one or more of these functions do not work, start over at step 1 again.

Hi, my Phillips was hooked up and working fine directly to the DISH receiver using the HDMI 1. I moved and had to put the DISH receiver in another room and ran a coax cable to where the TV is now using...

Hey murphypat321,

Sounds like the TV may need to be on ch 73 cable rather than 60 air. Try switching the TV to 73, if it goes to 69 then put back on 60, if goes to 73 good. Once you have that set go to your TV1 and bring up the menu. Go to System Setup (6) -> Installation (1) -> Modulator Setup (5) and change the TV2 setup to either cable if on 73 or air if on 60 and the picture should come in if everything's hooked up.

Hope that helped! You can email me at [email protected] if the problem persists.

Hey there! Becki Barned from Dish Network customer service here!!! If you want to do this! You would need a tech to come out and install the DVRs in the new rooms. If you try to move the reveivers, you will only get an Acquiring Satellite Signal message. If this has not been resolved, you can find us on Twitter, or blog back!

Hello, the problem that you are having is fairly simple to solve. The tv is causing interference with the remote. It sounds like you're at TV1, and TV1 remote is an IR remote. You need to get a UHF remote, and that will stop the interference so that you can continue to enjoy your tv! You can e-mail me at [email protected] if you have any questions or concerns.

Hey there! This is Becki Barned with Dish Network customer service. That is a very frustrating event!!!! To stop that, in your menus, you can change a setting to stop that. Here are the steps: 1. Menu 8-5. This will bring you to record plus. Here, you want to disable the ACTIVATION. That way, you can record to any tv of your preference!!!

I have provided instructions on how to program the remote to your TV. I have also provided codes for your TV brand.

Remotes: Basic (Television Only)
  1. Turn the Television On
  2. Press and Hold the TV Power button for three seconds until the LED flashes
  3. Enter the three-digit code using the buttons on the number pad.
  4. Press OK. Note: The LED will flash three times.
  5. Test functionality with the TV
  6. Return to Step 2 if the remote is not able to turn the TV On/Off, change the volume and mute the television.
The codes are as follow: 720, 220, 748, 721 (694 only has a 2% success rate). I hope this helps.

SATELLITE DISH

Sure you can, if you have Dish Network go to the receiver and turn the TV and receiver on. Then press menu-6-1-1. This takes you to the point dish screen. You will come out with better results using a compass to find the azimuth the dish should be pointed toward and bore sighting the dish by pointing it in that direction. You then will need to move the dish in very minute increments pausing for 15 to 20 seconds after each move to ensure the satellite signal can be found. If you have ran a check switch prior to this and have lost all satellites you more than likely will not receive a signal until you run another check switch and have found the signal of at least one of the orbitals. If this proves to be to tedious and many times it will you can usually find an inexpensive signal pointing device at a store like Radio Shack. Hope this is some assistance to you. Let me know if I can be of additional assistance and thank you for using Fix Ya.
