I have an C210SF Multifunction Printer connected to a computer with a Vista operating system. I am unable to use the fax or scan functions. Does anyone know of a solutions? Thanks

How to install a printer without the install cd.
You lost, broke or damaged your installation cd for your printer and the software is corrupt and needs reinstalled or you want to hook it to a different computer. What should you do?

You can install a printer without the cd.

First connect the printer to the USB port if that is how it hooks up, this is the most common hookup. Power the printer on. Give the computer, which should already be running, some time to recognize the printer. It will ask for the disk (cd) or if you want to browse for it. Cancel the setup at this time.

Google your printers brand. Go to the company web site. You should see a link to 'drivers and downloads' click on this. A page will open usually with a search engine. Input your model. You should be presented with software for your model printer to download. Follow the instructions and download the software to your desktop.

When done close the internet and click on the software you just downloaded. It should start an install. Follow the instructions and install the software. Reboot your computer and go to the printer setup. Find your printer and open the maintenance menu. You should be able to do a test print at this point. If your printer prints a test page you are done.

I would save the downloaded software to a file which you can easily recognize and burn it on a cd.

Remove printer from 'printers & faxes'.

Uninstall printer software from 'add & remove' programs.

Disconnect the printer from your computer.

Reboot your computer.

Install the printer software that you downloaded. Connect printer to computer following on screen instructions.

I need to hook my printer back to my computer i lost the disk
Go to Brothers web site and look for downloads or drivers. Download the drivers for your model and install them. Also if it has any software/manuals that the model uses you should find it there as well. I you already have software installed I would uninstall and reinstall the software you download.

Here is the link you can use to download the drivers and software for your printer.

Just choose your operating system then choose whether you want Drivers or Software then click Download Now to start the download process. I would initially choose Drivers and then return to the website if you need the additional software.

After you choose where you want to save the file and complete the download. Just double left click the file to start the installation of the drivers..
