Hi guys. I've got problems with JVC KD-G501 car receiver. It worked good for a long while (two years). Now it's giving me problems with mp3 cds. When I insert a mp3 cd it displays "Play" for a long time, then it passes to the "Check" step and then it displays "Please Eject". The receiver still works fine with normal cd (cda) but it gives this problem with every mp3 cd even the ones that worked well just a couple of months ago (so I assume it's not a problem related to laser or cd device). Which could be the problem? I've tried resetting it too (with the frontal button) but it seems not to work (the red light turns on when I release the reset button but it keeps storing all settings - preset radio station in example). Can I do something or do I need a new cd receiver? :( Thanks.
I tried to reset the receiver by removing the fuse but it didn't work (it still keeps all settings). But I've reinstalled it suddenly. I'll try to remove it for some minutes. Thanks for the help, I'll make you know ;) I tried to reset the receiver by removing the fuse but it didn't work (it still keeps all settings). But I've reinstalled it suddenly. Have you tried removing the negative terminal from your car battery and giving it a few minutes. Hook the terminal back up and try your cd player again? That should be the same as resetting your cd player settings.

are they store bought CDs ? or are they copies? cause some players unless stated will not play MP3 or MP4 cds, or CDRs , CDRW Etc.... check if the Cds are burned copies, and then also check the music layout if copied, using the computer, see if they are mp3 files that should play if they are mp4 then the cd will act blank....hope this helps...
I had this same problem and realized after reading the manual that this model does not play mp3's. They use the same manual for the g140 and the g240 (the model which plays mp3s).
