My keypad is not recognising what i type - Samsung SGHF480 Cell Phone

I have installed the pack numlockx, activated it with the procedure described on ubuntu.org. Then by making CTRL SHIFT VerrNum (ubuntu.org procedure), the numeric keypad that had been inefective for one year began to work again...

You have it in HEX mode. Hit 2ndF and then the + button. This will put it back into Decimal mode.

I have good news and bad news, I know whats wrong with your phone, however at the moment i dont know how to fix it :(

The Nokia E63 has a QWERTY keypad. However, if the firmware was built in a different place than the phone itself (did you buy your phone abroad?) its possible your phone may have the firmaware of an AZERTY keypad.

If you think of each key having a number (1=q 2=w 3=e 4=r etc along the keyboard) Your phones firmware should recognise 1 and being ''Q'', and therefore display it .. however, your phone is recognising 1 as being ''A'' and so on, which is what is causing your problem.

The best thing you could do is to do a complete restore/factory reset, remove your memory card (if you have one) and go back onto the nokia website and reinstall the latest software. However, do NOT restore backups after updating. Otherwise, i thinks its a trip to the ol' Nokia Hospital i'm afraid!

You have to press return after typing in the code. It won't show up when you type, but when you have typed it all in hit the return key or enter key on the bluetooth keyboard and it will accept it.

When you see soft keypad on screen while writing new message, click on the keypad icon at the bottom.
This should hide the keypad from screen.
Now you can type. The only problem is you can not type custom words. You have to depend on t9.
If you want to write custom work click on Add New word option. The word will be saved and t9 will recognize it when you try to type it again.

i think this can be some problem with your keypad which is not recognizing some button that typing.
check if all the buttons are properly working.

The numeric keypad functions like the numeric keypad on an external keyboard. Each key on the keypad has multiple functions. The keypad numbers and symbols are marked in blue on the right of the keypad keys. To type a number or symbol, press <Fn> and the desired key after enabling the keypad.

• To enable the keypad, press <Num Lk>. The light indicates that the keypad is active.
  
  
• To disable the keypad, press <Num Lk> again.
  

Clean the connection between the pad and mainboard, even if this does not look dirty. New pads often need cleaning due to factory residue. Use isopropyl alcohol. I had the same problem with a new keypad and this worked for me. Good luck, I hope it works for you too.

Are you connecting by plug and play or did you download the software? (setpoint 4.0) I had the same problem and contacted Logitech and was told that the radio freq. waves between wireless routers, monitors, etc. will interfere with the product causing it to loose connection. Pressing the connect buttons will not fix the problem you need to download the software..(get it from the site) I have had many cases like this and found if the software is downloaded it solves the problem. Hope that helps you.

The default password is 0000 (4 zeros). You typed o's, I can assume that may be your problem. Otherwise, check the keypad settings to verify that it is set to numerical. Best of Luck.
