My miele dishwasher intake/drain light is on. Will not work. please advise. ty

Please check that the water supply valve is open.

Check the drain for a blockage.

Does it fault out in the beginning, middle or end?

I have exact same symptons, please someone help. I have had issue before where the plumbing backed up so it overflowed into the catch tray. Then that has to be vacummed out and then just start a new cycle. This time there is no water in the overflow tray....

Every Miele dishwasher is designed to drain water in the first 30 seconds of any cycle. Does your intake/drain light come on at all? Miele technical services can troubleshoot the fault code if you do get an intake/drain light.
The most common issue I have seen is that the dishwasher drain line is clogged.
Solution - Try checking the airgap at the top of your sink, if nothing there then check the end of the drain line usually connected to the garbage disposal if you have one. I would reccomend disconnecting the end of the drain line and putting it into a bucket. Let the dishwasher run for 30 seconds and if it drains then its a problem with your garbage disposal. If not I would contact Miele technical support to troubleshoot the fault code

When this happens with my dishwasher it usually means that the drain is clogged with food/debris.  To fix 1) remove bottom dish rack from machine 2) using a small cup, scoop out as much water as possible 3) remove inlet drain cover and unsnap the plastic insert and remove 4) rinse the plastic part and reinstall 5) start machine 6) if light still flashes, repeat steps 3 4 and 5 and restart

It could be that the drain pump or the non-return valve is clogged. Refer to the manual about how to check the non-return valve. It is under the "Maintanence" section. Here is a link to it:

check and see if the disposer drain port plug was removed. intake/drain light means slow drain or no drain
