Try these simple trick to find out yor remote control working or not....
Point the remote control towards the Camera of a Mobile Camera phone,with the camera on. While pressing remote, we can see a light (Infra Red) coming from its IR LED through the Mobile Camera if the Remote is working.
If the problem with the component that mentioned by you, write down the Number written on that and replace it with the same by the help of a Soldering Iron.
Also see the writing near to it for finding out what the component is.... For eg. C=Capacitor, R=Resistor, TR or Q=Transistor, IC=Chip, D=Diode etc.

firstly check your tv switch contacta, that switch has 4 four contact
two make contacts.
if the switch is ok, then check your power supply components like
power transistor, diodes, and fusible resistors,resistor with less values,
the problem will be solved, ok
